SIZING NOTES: Fit is Small-Average. Some people will need to size up.
Barefoot in the wild, or on the streets, Mudee is a weatherproof, all year round version of our Bootee. It provides flexible, breathable, ultra light barefoot comfort combined with a little warmth and water resistance. Ideal for all-day wear outside or in the office.
Mudee features our second generation of Microfibre upper material performing similar to the highest grade of leather but quicker drying. The fit is a little more generous than our other Freet styles, but you still are likely to need to go a size larger than your ‘normal’ size for other brands
- Breathable, durable, water resistant upper made from our advanced hydrophobic micro fibre material – MicroF2. This upper is breathable, durable and water resistant as well as quick drying. Unlike leather which tends to absorb water, our MicroF microfibre sheds water (hydrophobic)
- Water resistant and breathable lining
- Freet 5in1 asymmetric forefoot for natural foot shape allowing toes to spread naturally
- ConnectComfort removable 2.5/3mm OrthoLite insole aids shock absorption whilst ensuring excellent ground connectivity. There is a 5/6mm OrthoLite insole and RockPlate available to purchase if you want more shock absorption and/or further protection from sharp rocks
- Conventional lace
- MultiGrip2 performance outsole for light trail and pavement grip and durability
- Black or Tan Brown
- Vegan
- To clean your Mudees, use a damp cloth to wipe the upper after rinsing/brushing off any stubborn mud. You can rinse the lining with warm water with a tiny spot of detergent. Rinse with clean water. Dry with some lightly rolled newspaper and let air-dry over night
AYR SERIES (ALL YEAR ROUND)

Great shoe
Really comfortable, looks nice. Took a few days to get used to the width from a mental perspective. Hard to get out of my head that such a wide shape is not feminine. Used to it now and recommend to everyone.

Meet my expectations
My first barefoot shoe. I bought these looking for a walking boot that would look good, be water resistant and be comfortable on long walks. As we are currently in lockdown I haven’t been on any properly long walks yet, but have worn these boots quite a lot and have been walking the dog locally in them. I have not felt any adjustment period to the zero rise sole, although I have discovered a new inclination to walk on grass and other natural surfaces rather than sealed roads or footpaths. I think this is because I still have a tendency to heel-strike. I also enjoy the sensation of feeling undulations in the surface. Overall I find the boots comfortable to wear and they look nice and are water resistant. I presume I will have to treat them to keep this aspect as with other boots. I find that if I do up the laces too tight then the seam at the base of the tongue presses on my ankle a bit so I have to balance this aspect with my foot moving to the front of the boot when the laces are too loose. This needs to be taken into account when walking downhill stretches. I normally wear a size 40 and bought a 41. There is room for my finger behind my heel when I push my foot all the way to the front. A size 40 would definitely have been too small, though only in length because the boots are very roomy in width. The toe box is not roomy in height so if you have toenail issues or similar they might not be for you. The applet that tried to predict my size got it wrong twice, so take that aspect with a grain of salt. Another aspect I like is that the shallow tread doesn’t pick up a lot of mud and is easy to clean out. It seems to still provide plenty of grip and I think that’s in part because of the surface area and your foot’s ability to conform to the shape of the ground. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Tricky sizing
The size is not ideal for my foot as I was recommended to buy a much bigger size due to the width of my foot. The fitting and design isn’t ideal for my foot (as I have a wide foot and thinner back of the foot and ankle so it bunches at the tongue when I try to make the foot secure in the bigger shoe size)….Personally I would probably not buy this brand again.
