- They feel like a hug. For your feet.
- Theyre pretty thick, so they dont necessarily feel ‘barefoot’.
- Some stitching got kindof loose already after only a week or so.
- all the marketing shows the shoes being worn during outdoorsy activities, but they are clearly not made for that. The profile is pretty smooth and meant for everyday wear.

I love these boots. Love the peek of tartan at the top, love the style, love the comfort, love them!
These were almost perfect straight out of the box, the only issue was that the heel cap rubbed a little. I just had to “crack” them (press the cap a few times when they were off my feet) and then they were perfect. I also skip the top eyelets as having the laces done up all the way put pressure around my ankles/lower calves.

I have a pine cone pair and a black pair.

Great shoes! I’ll be buying more Lems from here as soon as possible. Bprimal were extremely helpful with when it came to returning for a larger size, and the process was made easy with the Sendly courier system.
Taea H.
Absolutely adore these shoes.
Ordered my usual size and they ended up being a tad too small but the return policy was amazing. The moment I put on the right fitting pair on I knew I had just found my new favorite shoes. I really can't describe how comfy these are. I will definitely buy again when this pair dies.
If it helps I like a cm of wiggle room so might be best to ask bprimal directly about inner fit as opposed to trusting the sizing charts/methods.

I thought I may be in strife with the size and need to send back, but I ordered a size up. When they arrived I tried them on and didn't take them off again! The size up was right and very comfortable. Always happy to put them on. They are light, lots of toe room, and I like they come with two lace choices.
Jaimie-Lee Roy
These are my absolute favourite shoes ever. True to size, great fit, they look awesome and are so lightweight it feels like I'm wearing no shoes.
Anonymous
Very comfortable, versatile boot.
Timothy A Beck
These boots are super comfy.

I cannot take these shoes off. These shoes are not only the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn but I love the look and they are made well.
Craig Ford
Great product. Delivery time was good. Thanks.
Anonymous
Straight out of the box I wore these shoes for 15 hrs and no issues.
A complete game changer for me no more 3inch thick sole joggers. Zero drop for life
Ashley Bartlett
Great quality shoe, materials feel solid, looks really nice. Very comfortable, need long socks as back of ankle rubs, hopefully the materials will soften up a little there.
I still feel like I could potentially go a size up, maybe half size, though I'm already at size 13. I need to undo the laces a fair way to get my feet in, particularly on my wider side. Doesn't feel cramped. Unsure as first pair of barefoot shoes, and maybe my choice in size is wrong here.
Cameron Kirkman
Bprimal was very very efficient In delivering the purchase of my boots, The shoes them selves are extremely comfy and feel very durable. Thank you
TB
These are the most comfortable boots that I have ever worn. They feel like slippers on your feet, and they weigh almost nothing. I usually wear a US10.5/US11 in barefoot runners and after using the digitally mapped sizing guide, my size was confirmed as US11. After placing my order, I emailed customer service with concerns that I ordered too small and Faye suggested that I do indeed size up to a US11.5 and she promptly updated my order before they were shipped. I received these (and a pair of Boulders in Russet leather) in no time. Kudos to the customer service team.
Eli Anidjar
These shoes are awesome! I am new to Lems and will be coming back when in need of a new pair for sure. Very comfortable, the delivery was really fast and great customer service. Thanks bprimal! :)
Andrew Becker
Love them so far, really comfy and lots of toe space without feeling oversized. Definitely need to go half a size bigger than your normal shoes (would love if they did 13.5 considering that would be a 13 in any other shoes).
Karin El-Monir
I had a manufacturing issue with the first pair I ordered. I have to say that the response of Bprimal was amazing, and the quality of the shoe is really good.
Josh Atkins
My first pair of barefoot shoes.
They are super comfortable and look great.
Super happy with my purchase and bprimal were great to deal with.

These boots were recommended by my podiatrist. I have always worn traditionally shaped shoes. For the first couple of days my gait felt a little unfamiliar, but once I became used to the sensation it really does feel much more comfortable and stable. I understand the description for this type of shoe as a "barefoot shoe". It's not quite right, you don't feel barefoot, but there is something to it, the sensation is a bit reminiscent of being barefoot, but not completely. Definitely my favourite shoe now.
Allysha Fry
Love these boots. Have worn them every day since they arrived. Good winter minimalist shoe. Super stoked.
Andy Dee
Fantastic product and service - far exceeded expectations.
This is the first pair I've had - after being highly recommended - I can see why. They won’t be the last. Service unreal. Thank you.
Jsu Krishnaleela
So comfy!! Feels good to step out in these ethical boots...walking lightly walking respectively on the Earth❣️Thank you!
Marianne Hillyard
I have them on right now, comfortable straight out of the box
Thank you
Sam
I’ve worn a pair of these shoes every day for the last 4 years. They are durable and comfy.
Ammon
These in combination with my Correct Toes have helped eliminate my lower back and knee pain. The wide toe box and flat sole allow my foot to function properly which gives my whole body a strong and functional foundation.
I have hiked 30+ miles in these and love the comfort they give. I use Obenauf's leather treatment to soften and treat the leather and that has worked great.
Only drawback is that they are not very good for scrambling on rocks, so the name is kind of deceiving. That and they don't have the best traction. Still five stars in my book.
Richard Jedli?ka
These boots are very light but still give you a reasonable protection. Great for hiking. During a 5 day long trip, my feets almost did not sweat or smell, I've used only one pair of socks. What I don't like that after some time the leather in a place where the it meets the rubber sole starts to unstick, it doesn't affect their features though, at least not yet. Still, I like them very much.
Ben
The best pair of boots I have ever owned! You can even turn them into full scale winter boots if you buy a size up so you can put a felt liner in, and use boot wax on them so they are waterproofed. =)
I only wish they would make the canvas boot in gray as well as black.
That would make my day, and I would buy them asap.
George Harris
Such a mixed experience, living with these boots. On the one hand they are at least as comfortable as anything I've ever worn. On the other, they are almost impossible to keep water out of, the soles wear away very quickly and are terrible on anything other than gravel or rock and the insoles lasted less than 6 months.
I should probably add that I'm almost certainly not your average user; I'm a mountain leader in the UK, and have used these boots up and down the UK hills for the last 6 months. They have also done lots of regular duty as well, so I have worn them rather a lot. I've got a pair of Xero shoes as well, and some Xero sandals, which I alternate with my Lems, so I probably wear the Lems 2-3 days a week. However, some of those days are 10-12 hours of walking on tough terrain, the sort of terrain that wears away sole material quickly. Don't get me wrong, on gravel and bare rock, these things grip superbly and have all the feel you'd want from a minimalist boot (about as much feel as my old Vivobarefoot boots, but with a different character), but the softness of the rubber used here means they are never going to last long. It's a hard equation; do you go for durability (and therefore stiffness) or do you go for grippyness and gain flexibility? Opting for a softer rubber means less durability, which in this case has left me with a boot that needs resoling after half a year. I'll leave you to decide whether that's a compromise you want to make.
On to the waterproof issue. These boots make no claim to be waterproof, and I didn't expect them to be. However, a leather outer should have a good degree of water resistance and not absorb water too much, and be able to be re-waxed to a high standard of water repellency. For whatever reason, I've not been able to get these boots to repel water for anything beyond a few minutes into the wet. Even when freshly waxed (and I've used 5 different types of wax product to see if any can make it better), they just don't ho...
Michael
So comfortable and they break just right. I used Obenauf's LP conditioner on them and they look great, and I am glad they are weather treated now.
I love the lining. Cushy. I love the insole. The little bumps give a little massage as you pull the boots on and off. They just feel so great and I am so glad to have comfy footwear as I am tough to fit due to my wide feet and high instep. Can feel the ground but cushy enough to feel protected.
Nate
Very comfortable, not as minimalist as some, but not bad and will be great for hiking. Would love to see a waterproof version, but you can waterproof yourself so not a deal breaker.
Rich
Literally. They are so perfect right out of the box that I bought a pair of the black leather ones 2 weeks later.
Tevya
They're just super comfortable and fit exactly right. They feel like wearing moccasins. I wore them without insoles the first couple weeks to allow them to stretch out some, then put the insoles back in. Perfect fit! Just love how they feel, and how my feet, knees, and back feel when I wear them. None of the plantar fasciitis or other pains I get with "normal" boots (even more so than shoes, because their soles are so inflexible)!
Daniel
I've switched myself over completely to barefoot style, zero drop shoes over the last year. The one missing piece was a boot that I could wear while doing yard work. Everytime I put on my old work/hiking boots my feet would hurt. These boots fit the bill pretty much perfectly. They offer the protection I need while giving me the barefoot shoe fit and feel. It would be nice if the eventually came out with a version without lining that breathed better for when summer hits. I would buy a pair once the came out.
Meredith
The perfect shoe to accommodate for those unhappy bunions and hammer toes. I am able to use my inserts provided by my podiatrist & walk with no pain. The toe box is extremely spacious for my toes yet the boot is still fashionable! (& I wear a women's 10.5) Thank you, Lems! Your shoes are what i've been searching for!
GW
I was looking for a boot that was minimal in fit and weight, but good in fashion and protection. The Lem Boulder boot does all that and more. Highly recommended.
Brandon
Took longer than expected (two weeks), but the boots finally feel comfortable. Wasn't happy at first, but now I'm very happy.
Nathan Ciszek
I've been a full time barefooter for over 4 years. But extreme conditions and employers prevent me from being barefoot 100% of the time. I can't wear regular shoes because my feet are thicker and wider from going barefoot. And I need to walk as nature intended in order to stay healthy after two spinal fusion surgeries. There wasn't much of an answer until I found Lems shoes. The Boulder Boots are great, I just wish they were waterproof. Besides for that, they do the job and keep my stride healthy and natural. They feel like barefoot slippers. I'm a customer for life. I don't mind paying extra for waterproofing.
Jacks
Love my lems!! Will definitely buy again when the time comes.
Tyler
I bought these boots just before leaving on a 3 month long back packing trip around the world. I love the boot's versatility and packing efficiency. In reality I could have only packed these boots and no other shoes. I have been very pleased with the boots in the alps and as a casual stylish boot for the city. This is the only boot you need!
Adam
I bought these boots for my wife and she absolutely loves them. The size guide is perfect. Can't wait to see her putting some miles on them.
Erin
The only disappointment I feel is in the fact that I can't rate these boots higher than 5 stars. I had my eye on the Boulder Boot for over a year but was wary about ordering online, as I am about shoes in general; I hemmed and hawed about whether or not to splurge on more shoes. If you are having this internal struggle, as I did, let it go and get these boots. They've already become my favorite shoe in the few short weeks I've had the pleasure of wearing them. They are awesome for many reasons: *Comfy as all get out! *Wide toe bed for wiggle room and natural toe-splay which is a great repreive from wearing dress shoes at work all day AND I can wear them with my thick wool socks. *Lightweight and bendy - especially important for the long walks we take our dog on, super cute because who said we need to sacrifice style for comfort? *I've worn them on a lightly-rainy dog walk and, though they are not advertised as weather proof, my feet stayed warm and dry. *Learning to field compliments like a pro - everywhere I go, these boots catch someone's eye. Those are just a few, but to sum up - the boulder boot is the best everyday shoe, hands-down (or hands up, if you're celebrating how much you love your Lems!)

My job requires us to wear closed toe shoes, and as someone getting into the minimalist shoe movement, this makes finding decent shoes difficult. I tried Fivefingers for a couple weeks only to quickly see that their lack of ankle covering constantly allowed things to fall into them and cut up my toes. This was very problematic, making it clear that I needed boots. After searching online for boots that boasted all the features of a minimalist shoe, I come acrost the Boulder boot. I can easily say that these are the best shoes of any kind that I have ever owned. You would not believe how much of a difference the flat sole and wide toe box make. While going to work with my hiking boots, I would come home with pain in my heels. After wearing Boulders, I have never had that problem. My toes are no longer squished together, I have plenty of wiggle room, and my toe splay is now very healthy and natural. All the foot form issues that come with the fit and structure of nonminimalist shoes are both absent and reversed. With a fit that benefits your foot health and feels better than a slipper even without the insole, you can't go wrong with these. Despite me favoring function over form, the dislike for my fivefinger?s look from others rubbed off onto me. The initial excitement to tell everyone about them died off quickly with the weird stares and mutterings of how stupid they look. Not only do the Boulders look like a normal boot, but they are very stylish! They have the perfect balance of dressiness and ruggedness, allowing me to wear them on the sales floor, out in the mulch lot, and even my graduation ceremony. There is no place where these look out of place. The bottom line is that these boots have fulfilled everything I need in a shoe. I have had a great experience with these, and there's no reason that you shouldn't. Based on how they're wearing so far under the load I put them through, I'd anticipate these boots to last me two years.
Phil
Lightweight comfort with plenty of room for toes but without being sloppy these boots felt like old friends right out of the box. They just scream take us for a walk
Mary
These are great shoes. I bought them to replace my old pair of Merrell Barefoot Power Play gloves which Merrell no longer makes. The Lems shoes are a good alternative, though I do miss the vibram sole a little from the Merrell's. I haven't gone hiking (yet) in these, but I'm confident they'll hold up for a day hike. I found they chafed a little at first until I started tying them differently, and now they fit perfectly. There's plenty of room in the toebox, which is important to me. I bought (and returned) a pair of Vivobarefoot hiking boots because they didn't have enough room for my toes to move. The brown color is great, though I half wish I'd purchased Timber instead... those look amazing, but I went with boring. Perhaps next time, because there will be a next time! I can easily see myself buying another pair when (if) these wear out.
patrick
unless you buy another pair in another color. this is my 2nd pair of Boulder boots. the first pair lasted me 2 years I think and still looks good and is as comfortable as they have ever been. Hands down, these are the best, most comfortable shoes you will own. All of a sudden you will realize, oh, I can wear these boots with shorts, and I can wear these boots with dress slacks, and hell, I think these boots will look damn fine with a suit
Joshua
I've bought 3 pairs of Boulder boots this year and and I'm not ashamed. I'm so in love with these shoes. I've never had a pair that fit better. At my job I'm on my feet for 8+ hours. I've tried everything - running shows, 150$ Nike's, insoles - nothing compares to the comfort I feel when wearing my LEMS. I don't think I'll buy any other shoe again.
Betsy
I am an avid hiker with foot problems. Bunions, extra wide feet, high arches, etc. I bought these Lems and gone are the foot problems! I absolutely love them! I normally wear a six to six and a half, got a 39 in these. They are a bit longer than what I normally wear, but for hiking this is perfect, as the feet swell and more toe room is needed.
Grant K.
I use these boots when i ride my scooter to work, when i split wood in the backyard. These are the boots that i take on a quick trail hike in the foothills. I like the flexibility of the sole & the snug and secure feeling of the boots on my ankle. Overall you don't feel like your wearing boots when you put these boots on, which is a nice feeling!
Liz
Love! Love! Love! I love my boots. They make me happy. I have very sensitive feet, with arthritis. I can wear my boots, with toe separators and feel comfortable. Thank you for a great boot.
Rochelle
I really love my Boulder Boots. I wear them frequently with jeans on casual days at work. I always throw them on for long walks and I have happy feet and hips.
Rone
I'm on my third pair of Lem's Boulder boots. I'll continue to buy them for the forseeable future. I really like the fit and feel. After 3 pair: (1) I wish the outsole came in a tougher compound - I've worn out 2 outsoles all the way through long before the upper was wore out; (2) for running these are great, on the trail your ball-of-foot will slide around in the boot, it's a trade-off; (3) this boot is screaming for an all-leather version; (4) for the price I'm disappointed in the lack of durability in the outsole. Until a competitor can trump the Boulder boot, this is and will remain my every-day shoe. When I buy my 4th pair, I'm going to attempt to attach a thin vibram sole to the bottom of the Boulder boots in the hope they'll last longer than 8 months. Until the Boulder is outdone, I'll continue to buy them. All-day comfort on concrete and the trail.
Mick
Without doubt the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. My fifth star is waiting for a version that is also fairtrade and sustainable, like the products from Ethletics.
Adam furrdogg Swanson
These boots are awesome. Super light, wide as hell, and black on black is a HUGE must have! They come with burgundy laces if you are feeling fancy too. These are the perfect all day boot.
Michael
This boot is very, very roomy. My feet and toes thank you. I started with a pair of primals and swear they are the most amazing shoe I've ever worn. The boots are the same, amazing. There extremely light weight and so far very durable. I'm sold on Lems. Truly the best and last shoe I will ever purchase. Thank you
Dustin
These boots are wonderful for all of my outdoor adventures--hiking, Scouting, working, etc. they allow my toes to be free and provide support and stability, while protecting me just enough from the elements and other dangers to make outdoors wonderful.
Emily
I've had these boots for a few years and absolutely love them. I never wore heels or anything too restricting, but I developed bunionettes from wearing normal shoes. I found this company and have never looked back. My toes have ample room, they're SO comfortable, they breath, they're super lightweight, they can dressed up or worn for hiking, and they're zero drop. I get compliments on them all the time. Really, the perfect shoe.
logan
I gave this boot three stars, but it really is an excellent shoe. SHOE. These are high top shoes, not boots, They do the job of a shoe exceptionally well. I have sesamoiditis and I largely wear lems exclusively because they fit my foot so well and allow me nearly go barefoot the entire time. Best miiminalist shoe out there as far as fit and foot health is concerned. However, these are not very durable. I have beat the crap out of these (part time job, not full time. I'm in college) logging, welding, construction, etc for nearly a year and a half, which isn't bad, but a real boot would hold up far better. My feet are always confortable, but I am literally wearing a hole in the sole. Another month or two of work and you would probably see my sock through the bottom of the shoe. if they would extend the hard rubber outsole on the entire sole that would help, and I think Lems could do so without compromising flexibility. The other thing that would help is an all leather version. PLEASE. HEAR OUR CRIES. An all lether version would be way more durable and could be waterproofed. Over all, keep up the good work Lems.
Jens
This is one of the best winter boot that I have had. But snow is melting the none lether part leaks. Please make this boot in total leader without changing the design!!!
Amy
These are sublimely comfortable hiking boots, and they stay wonderfully comfortable all day. I have a neuroma which tends to be a problem when wearing hiking boots, but with these boots there are no issues at all with it. For this reason these are my favorite hiking boots ever. However, there is a problem with them if you're going to hike anyplace wet and steep and slippery. These boots have very poor traction when worn on slick wet surfaces, causing more than one slip and fall for me in places where I wouldn't ordinarily have had a problem. I would sure be happy if Lems made this boot with better traction. I'd also be much more happy with them if they were waterproof. Lems is nicely up front about advising customers that they are not, but I would certainly prefer my hiking boots to be waterproof! If they had better traction I'd definitely give these boots five stars, since they are light as feathers and unbelievably comfortable. With the traction issue, though, I'm giving them only four stars.
Linda
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! (I used to wear Earth shoes) The superb fitting directions on-line gave me the correct size. I have a wide toe box, narrow ankle and size 5-1/2 foot so buying shoes has always been a challenge. Please continue to make these as I am a convert for life! Your shoes are the BEST!!
Brooke
I am so happy I found these boots. I have transitioned all of my footwear to minimalist, but I still needed to find some winter boots. These absolutely work. They are super-comfortable. I was afraid the sole would be too stiff, but they are not bad at all, considering they are boots. They repel water and snow quite well, too. My only negative comment would be about the sizing. The sizing guide recommends going up from what you normally wear, which I did, and the boots I ordered were huge. I had to return them and get a new size, which was still too big. In the end, I would have been fine with the exact same size I am in other shoe brands.
Emil
Extremely happy would be an understatement. I pretty much spend all my time outside of work with Luna Sandals on my feet. Though when I was in need of new work shoes I came across Lems. I now had an excuse to purchase boots when I previously own none. Perfect, barely there minimal boots that I way to work and throw on those rare occasions when weather keeps me out of my Lunas. Only complaint with the boot itself is that the laces are super long. Lems was kind enough to throw in an extra pair of a different color so I didn't mind trimming one set down. Otherwise, manufacture Lems in the USA and instead of China and get rid of the outdated shipping fees and I'd say these guys would be right up there with my favorite huarache makers.
Raymond
I have had these boots for about a year now and they are worth every penny. I work retail, I spend a lot of time standing at a register, running around the store, going up and down ladders and pushing carts out side. Most shoes last me about 2 months before the sole too worn to be usable or starts hurting my feet. I can honestly say these boots have improved my quality of life. I no longer have foot pain after being on them all day and as a bonus my back isn't stiff anymore. If you are going to use these in cold and or wet environments I would highly recommend swapping out the inserts (save them for when things do warm back up) and putting in a thermal ones that has an aluminum (space blanket) layer. With soles this thin you will lose a lot of body heat into to cold ground using the inserts the boots come with. The other thing you might want to do is put on a silicon based water repellent barrier. It lasts longer then scotch guard and is safe to use on these boots with out causing discoloration. With a sole this thin I was worried that I would blow though them in a month but after a year of use on a lot of rough surfaces there is not a lot of noticeable wear other then most of the texture on the heel being gone. If there was an option to get these boots resoled when they do eventually wear though I would take Lems up on it, otherwise I will be buying these again when the time comes. Even if they had only had lasted a few months I'd still buy them again just for the pain relief alone but I predict I'll get another two years at least out of these. Keep up the quality and innovation Lems and you'll have a customer for life.
Mimi
I thought I would be a little embarrassed wearing the boulder boots because they look different, but no one has ever said a word about them, and they are exactly what I needed! I wear them to work every day and don't bother to take them off when I get home because they are so comfortable. The only thing is that one is slightly wider than the other, but no except me would even notice.
Jesse
best boots ever, i have been on the zero drop, large toe box shoe thing for a few years now and my feet are always cold in the winter since i haven't found a minimalist boot... until now. problem solved, don't change a think, if i could rate this 6 stars i would.
Jerry
The shoe is very comfy with the added lining and still has enough room for a thicker wool hiking socks for those cold winter days. I haven't tried the orange laces yet but that day is coming soon. The only down side of the shoes is that my hardwood floors don't like them because the sole design picks up little pieces of slag that they use on the streets here for winter. The primals don't have that problem because of a more open sole design. By the way I already own 2 pair of 9-5s a pair of primals and now the boot. My feet don't like conventional shoes anymore but goodwill does. ave that problem because of a more open sole design.
Pattie
Love, love love these boots! They re soooooo comfortable!
Jordan
If you're looking for a solid pair of backpacking/hiking shoes, these are not the pair. This is simply because they're not waterproof or warm enough. That being said, these are awesome otherwise. They're great for trail hiking and you could hike with them if it's a dry day hike. I wear them every day they're great.
Crystal
I love my boulder boots! Plenty of room in the toebox for my wide foot! Love the look as well.
Robert Baker
I have worn minimalist our barefoot shoes for the last six years because of the obvious health reasons, a little research reveals the common sense we have forgotten. I work in the service industry and am on my feet on the concrete/pavement 8-12 hours 5 days a week. I have never had a pair of work shoes last more than six months (usually 3-4 months is more accurate). I have had the Boulder boots (black) for 13 months waiting for my new pair to arrive. More than impressed with the quality of these boots. Keep pushing the envelope to exceed expectations and you will continue to excel in your field.
Kyle
I've had these for a year now. My only pair of boots. Breathable, light-weight, flexible, quick-dry, easy to clean, somewhat fashionable even. However, these boots are very slippery when wet.
Matthew Kitchen
I've had my Boulder Blacks since March of last year and wear them about 2-3 times a week. Full disclosure: I have switched to a Lems only foot diet, and I have no more foot pain, my pinky toes are finally happy, and my big toes which used to easily get ingrown toenails have gotten alot more manageable. The boots still look relatively new, and the insides don't smell ( I wear socks which helps in that department). I've used them to go hiking with great results. Iin even the widest my widest toe box hiking books I'd end up walking on my pinky toe which would cause blisters and after 10km or so make a hike less than fun, and the next week or two after just walking would hurt. That problem has been solved with the Boulders. So fas this winter I've just worn my regular cotton socks and my feet have been warm. If just standing still on a very cold day you feel the cold but I've found that to be the case with most shoes except really thick hiking boots. As long as your moving the toes get good seperation, and keep warm all on their own. Couldn't be happier, and they look good with khaki type pants and I wear them to work regularly. Not water proof, but I haven't tried any waterproofing for them. You'll be dry in the rain, but like all shoes if you step into a deep puddle you'll have wet feet. Keep up the good work guys.
Dimitriy
I've looked for a minimalist shoe for backpacking for years and these boots are the cat's pajamas. I sprayed them with Nikwax to make them more waterproof. The only thing I would change is to use open hooks (speed lacing system) on the top of the boot.
Ed
I have always steered clear of boots. Now that I own these I don't remember why I was hesitant. The Boulder Boots are so comfortable. I can wear them all day, spend all day on my feet, and for once my feet do not hurt. Absolutely GREAT!
Mark
This is my 4th pair of Boulder Boots. I am getting ready to order my 5th pair. I wear these everyday from the end of October until the middle of April. I am on my feet all day & on all kinds of terrain & floor types. These are the most comfortable boot ever. I have other Lem shoes also & so does my son. They are the best. Thanks for making a great & dependable product. Thanks, Mark wonderful product.
Linda Hoover
AWESOME!!! These are the most incredible boots I have ever owned. They are like wearing your favorite pair of slippers, but in a boot. As a horse trainer, who spends a lot of teaching on her feet teaching each day, these boots have been an incredible find for sore feet. I typically wear these boots twelve hours a day, seven days a week. In fact, I hate it when I can't wear them as my chosen footwear. Hint: Please make an all leather boot version and a dressier woman's shoe too. In the past, I have had serious foot pain. I have been through multiple pairs of custom shoe inserts, per my chiropractor's recommendation, and gone to a podiatrist for help. I finally took matters into my own hands and went minimalist. What a relief!!! First, I tried a pair of Vivobarefoot boots, which helped. Then I tried Lem's Boulder Boot. OMG! What a difference. Lem's surpasses Vivo for comfort AND durability! I have worn the same pair of Lem's boots for over seven months and they are still in excellent condition in spite of being worn in dirt, wet grass and abrasive footing.
Amrys
Received them in good condition just over a year ago. Waited for a year to give my review. I wear them every day to walk my dog 2-3 times a day. The walks range from 30 mins to 3 hours or even half a day depending on how much free time I have. I wear Correct Toes with them to help with feet strengthening. They are the best light-weight boots I've ever worn. Absolutely love them! They've survived hot urban roads to wet, muddy grassy slopes. I used to suffer from foot and leg cramps but now my feet are doing so much better especially when worn with the Correct Toes. There's now a hole in the sole of my boot which causes my feet to get wet when it rains. Am getting another pair of Boulder Boots but wonder if there's a way to resole them? The boots are still in very good condition and would be a shame to get rid of them. I bought a pair of Primal 2s as well but these are my favourite shoes when walking long distance with my dog :) Keep up the good work!

Not surprised these boots are getting a full score. Wide toe box and just overall really comfortable. Im gonna a give a different review since people here have allready said what's true about them. I struggle with Plantar Fasciitis, and my pain is worst under my heel so going from shoes with raised heels that ive worn my enitre life, to flat shoes can be a long transition. The very first day i got these i tried them on and walked for an hour and they felt really good allthough my heel says stop after just about an hour. Nothing wrong about the shoes, just the transition im not used to and with foot pain the transition will be even longer. So i took a pair of thin soft heels in them and i could expand my walks by 30 mins to an hour extra. I can't do long walks in them because of my pain just yet, but every day i can expand my walks by 5-10 minutes and they have truly strenghtened my feet for sure. My left foot has overall gotten better because of these shoes. They have truly perfected a shoe that has no cushioing like Altra has, but the firm outer sole which still has a little softness in them that my feet respond well to. If you are looking to strengthen your feet and your are in your final stage of injury...get these shoes and slowly expand your walks in them day by day. It will take time to get used to them if you are in pain, but they will help you with pain relief over time. Noticed a difference allready after just a month with an hour or two walks each day. Don't push the pain, let your feet get used to them first before you challenge your feet with long walks. They run a whole size small. Im normally a US size 10,5 , but wear 11 sized shoes for the extra room. Ordered a 46 which equals 11,5 and they felt like a slightly bigger 10,5 if that makes sense. Im hoping they will offer half sizes in the future too, as the next size would be too big for me.

Great Boot! Extremely light weight when compared to regular boots of same style. Extremely flexible. They do not need to be broken in as many other boots do. Comfort right out of the box. Good ground feel for a boot.

If min shoes had been mainstream when I was growing up, I may never have needed bunion surgery. It's next to impossible to find a pair of boots that don't bottleneck your toes into a cone-shape. These boots are actually shaped to fit my now straight toes. My feet are happy in them. I am happy wearing them. My husband said he is a bit jealous, and will likely be getting a pair for himself very soon. Long live minimal, anatomically correct shoes! Long live Lems!

I bought these shoes and immediately took them on a 3 day backpack in the Arizona desert. I had applied the recommended waterproofing Otter Wax which proved to work well when I slipped my foot into a stream. The material is really soft and comfortable, very lightweight which is ideal for backpacking. However, after walking through a short section of cat claw the leather had deep scratches, and after the backpacking trip they almost looked like distressed leather. The wax + backpacking gave the leather dark dark brown patches, which looks sort of cool and rustic, but I can't rub that dark color out without distressing the leather more than it already is. The same effect happened to the canvas, but just turned to a darker green, not as dark as the leather had changed. I don't use them at all for hiking now as I'm worried they will tear apart, but I love wearing them around as casual boots, they are so comfortable and great for thick wool socks since they are loose. I have to clip loose threads around the edges every so often which is a little disappointing. The sole in general is comfortable, more padded than a vibram, but feels less durable. It is wearing less rapid than expected. No major scratches on the sole from the cat claw either. The laces are a little stretchy and seem to be holding up well. I think their sizing chart is slightly off, I wear an 11.5 merrell which fits like a glove, but 46EU is a little too loose. Normally I like my ankle and heal area to be nice and snug with a big toe box, but it was too loose on the ankle/heel. Zappos sizing chart says 11.5US matches to 44-45EU which is more accurate in this case. I will go with a 45 if I get a new pair. Overall I would buy a new pair, however I wish I'd have known the appropriate terrain use beforehand. Think they are a little pricey for what they are but it's fun to try something different than the Merrell/Newbalance minimalist.

Of course while they aren't waterproof they are pretty darn resistant. Snow means nothing, puddles can seep in a bit. Super warm, super comfy with a perfect wide toe box (I have wide feet, after a couple of years of natural footwear). I really like the sole, seems very durable with a great balance of thickness and groundfeel. They look great with khakis, black skinny jeans, on the bicycle, you name it. I love these things and will definitely buy again- if they ever wear out! Thanks!

!By far the best shoe I've ever owned!!!! Very happy. Last time I made a mistake of ordering a 10 1/2 size for the primal 2 and sent it back because it was too small. But didn't give up and about six months later ordered the boulder boot in size 11 and perfect fit!! (: Very happy. Make the primal as attractive as the boulder boot!!

Though I received these boots in November, our winter did not begin in earnest until December 29th, so I've only worn these for ten days now. The quality workmanship and materials, and an extra pair of shoelaces impressed me immediately. The boots keep my feet warm in below-zero weather (Fahrenheit scale), and work fine in deep snow. They have great flexibility and comfort. I have been careful to avoid walking through puddles, as I understand they are not waterproof. I also have had to be careful on icy surfaces, although they have great traction on unpacked snow. Overall, these boots are just what I wanted for our long, cold winter, and I love the amber-blue color combination!

I had been wearing the Primals for some time now, and I loved those. But then the rainy season came, and I needed something a little more rainproof and puddle resistant. I bought these boots to keep my feet warm and dry, and they do that and more. They have good traction on wet pavement, but I don't know about rocks - there aren't many rocks here. I normally wear a size 9 (41 here) in women's Vans, but I had to go a size smaller for these boots - a size 40, which is 8 - 8 1/2. They fit great and snug with the insole, with or without my Correct Toes in place. They're very light weight! I suffer from pain in the ball of my foot and big toe joint, but wearing Lems' shoes really helps a lot.

I really like the boots so far because they are very comfortable except that my heel was rubbing against the shoe and skin started to blister. I emailed the sales rep and she said she never heard of such problem before and suggested wearing thicker socks. I wonder if the fabric liner is a part of cause of my problem. I tried thicker socks and they were better.

Everything I've always wanted in a boot with a love for minimalism. They do an OK job of keeping your tootsies warm in the winter but you should know what your getting into with canvas!

These shoes are so fashionable and functional. The fit is true to size with no break in time needed. They felt so good right from the box. I haven't hiked in them yet, but I have worn them everyday for at least a month. So far they've worn great and have kept my feet warm on the colder days. On the warmer days they breath well, so my feet feel very comfortable! I highly recommend. I am now a Lems shoe person!

Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em. Just wish two things: 1) better sizing. the 48 is just a tad too short. also, the ankle binds and I only lace them up 5 holes instead of 7. 2) make a stouter version for worse weather. I wear these to work almost all the time.

Generally, I'm actually pretty much okay with these boots, even if I feel they're a bit more pricey than is strictly warranted. But they are much blacker than in the images, soft and comfortable, and warm enough for early spring/late fall. I am, however, rather disappointed with the so-called DWR water-resistant coating. I've had one walk in what my weather app terms 'light drizzle' and my feet are soaking wet. It seems they are not as much resistant to water as attracting it... I know it says 'not waterproof', but still. Get cracking on a waterproof version, please.

This is my second pair of Lems shoes, the first being the Primal running shoes. On both pairs I have had issues with the eyelets. On my first pair, one of the eyelets split down the middle on the first day I had them. It wasn't a big deal, the shoes still worked the same. On the pair of Boulder Boots I received, one of the top eyelets was cut improperly and causes the lace to snag when I tighten it. I've had them for a month and already the shoelace is frayed in many spots. It's not a big deal, I'll just have to replace the laces from time to time. I bought these boots because I absolutely love the minimalist shoe style here at Lems. I find it difficult to wear other shoes now as they feel tight and constricting on my feet. Since it's starting to get cold here I figured I'd give the Boulder Boot a shot and have been very pleased so far. They've kept my feet warm on those cold morning walks to the bus stop. I assume they'll handle just fine with a pair of nice wool socks when it starts to get really cold. These boots are very comfortable and unbelievably light. All in all I love the boots. Comfortable, light weight, and decent at keeping my feet warm. My only issue is the defect with the eyelet. If it wasn't for that I would rate these 5 stars. I doubt such a defect is common, so don't let that scare you away from these boots; I just happened to be unlucky enough to get two pairs with eyelet defects.

Soooo comfortable for my wide feet... Everytime I have to wear a different shoe (Sports, waterproof, dress) including my line of vivobarefoot shoes, when I put these on after, it feels like a massive relief, like stresses I was not aware of in my feet, just vanish. Please please please make vegan versions of your mariner and nine2five shoes, please? If I was to give one negative, the heel is a little loose for my feet but saying that, it doesn't affect sole wearing, my soles are wearing very evenly :)

I got these a couple months ago and they have been pretty great so far. I work in a metalshop..nothing large scale but I do welding and machining and am on my feet all day. The toe box and zero drop on these have done wonders for my feet so far. It's pretty amazing, the bunions on my big toes don't hurt after working for 10 hours in these. That being said, I wish Lems would make a heavier duty hiking/work boot with a bellows/half-bellows tongue and gore-tex lining--if the boulder boots had these, they would be perfect. The sizing is also a bit strange so I had to try a couple different sizes to get it right. I'm usually a 9-9.5 and am wearing a 10 in these. Don't worry though, customer service is great!

I am pretty darned satisfied with my Boulder Boots. A true minimalist boot! They are incredibly comfortable, super lightweight and have a great simple style. In most of my shoes, even minimalist style shoes, I usually wear a very thin insole with arch support. I know, I know, that is besides the point of a minimalist shoe, but unless I am wearing something like five fingers, I haven't found that I can wear any flat shoe without getting pain in my bunion area unless I have a little bit of arch support for my incredibly flat feet. However, with the Boulder Boot I actually can't wear the arch support without getting pain!! So I had to remove my normal arch supports and I'm finding them so much more comfortable without anything at all. I love feeling the ground, rolling through my full range of motion and strengthening my own arches - while still wearing a boot! I will say that the insoles that are sent with the shoes are really smelly. They have a strong toxic smell that is really bothersome to me, so I need to find some other kind of insole to take up the extra room, now that I have removed my thin arch supports. They are fine without any insoles around town, But when I took a long hike and then the other day, that little bit of extra room caused a small blister. I am typically a size 8 women's shoe. I got two different sizes to try - 39 and a 40. The 40 seems fits my length better with an insole, But without the insole there's just little too much extra room all around. Other than that, I have been really pleased. I plan to wear them a lot!

I needed a shoe with a wide toe box, yet a narrow heel (the way a foot is shaped). Came across Lems Shoes and they are perfect. The boots are comfortable and cute. I've hiked a little in them over rocky, muddy terrain and they worked great. My feet pronate, and I have collapsing arches. So, I've always required very good arch support to prevent pain. Recently I also developed a bunion. That's why I began looking for a shoe with a wide toe box (while still maintaining a narrow heel). There's not much choice out there for a shoe shaped the way a foot is shaped! But finally I found Lems. However, Lems shoes have no arch support. So, I figured I would buy the Lems shoes and add my own arch support insole. However, to my surprise, I don't need the arch support in these shoes (the boots and the Primal 2 shoes)! I am pain-free!

I've been wearing Primals for a few years and had been meaning to try out the boots. These are great for when I need something just a little warmer, or a little more supportive, than the primals. I never want to take them off.

I wanted a boot that was thin-soled so I could feel the ground, but still would offer protection from the elements. I was floored by how difficult it was to find anything like that. Finally I got off of Amazon and stumbled on these boots. They're fantastic. They look good and feel good. Haven't had a chance to really test them out yet in heavy rain, let alone snow, but I imagine they'll work just fine.

Ive been living in minimalist shoes for the last four years, in summer I'm always in Vibrams but in the UK winter months you need some insulation. My goto boots would be from Vivobarefoot, great boots, but too thin a sole and insanely expensive. As the sole on these is so thin they give great ground feel but next to no warmth, even the thinsulate version don't cut it. Consequently the sole wears through quickly and they need replacing, more expense. When i had just about given up on the world of shoes, I found these!! TOTALY AWESOME They are light, just the right amount of space in the toe box and the sole is a sensible thickness. Obviously ground feel is not as apparent as it would be with a thinner sole but this is offset by thermal insulation and the practicality of a sole that won't wear out in five minutes flat. I love these boots and am awaiting the release of the new boot shoes. Congrats to the Lems team for their awesome products, you have a new fan, just wish there was a UK franchise. Keep up the great work
