Mudee features our second generation of Microfibre upper material performing similar to the highest grade of leather but quicker drying. The fit is a little more generous than our older Freet styles, but you still are likely to need to go a size larger than your ‘normal’ size for other brands

-Breathable, durable, highly water resistant and easy care upper made from our advanced hydrophobic microfibre material – MicroF2. Unlike leather, which tends to absorb water, our MicroF microfibre sheds water (hydrophobic), making it quicker to dry

-Water resistant and breathable lining

-ConnectComfort removable 2.5/3mm OrthoLite insole aids shock absorption whilst ensuring excellent ground connectivity. There is a 5/6mm OrthoLite insole and RockPlate available to purchase if you want more shock absorption and/or further protection from sharp rocks

-Conventional lace

-GripPlus performance outsole ideal for light trail or mixed trail/urban use. If worn purely on tarmac/concrete, this outsole will wear more quickly than our MultiGrip, but provides more grip on the trail than MultiGrip

SIZING & FIT GUIDE

Our Fit recommendation for this shoe based on customer feedback: Fit is Small-Average. Some people will need to size up.

If you don't know your normal EU size, or would like to double check sizing for this model, please use the sizing tools we have provided here like this:

1. Print out our Printable Size Guide for this model and stand on it - making sure your printer is set to 100% Scale. Choose the size where your longest toe finishes. If you are on the line, consider if you will be wearing thick socks, or prefer to have less or more space in your shoes and choose accordingly.

2. Use our Strutfit online sizing app to check your feet measurement and it will tell you what size to order - Click on "WHAT IS MY SIZE?" above. You will need an a4 sheet of paper and a smartphone for this. Once you have done this once, it will also tell you what size you need for all the other shoes on our website as you browse through other models.

3. Use the sizing chart provided which shows the insole length and width of the shoe which you can use to compare the measurements against another pair of shoes that fit you well. Or you can compare them with a sizing chart from another brand and work out your size that way. This is not a fool-safe way though, as the volume and material in the upper of the shoe can also make a big difference to the fit so best to use this in conjunction with one of the other sizing methods.

We don't recommend manually measuring your feet to work out sizing, as in our experience most people measure incorrectly without the use of a proper tool such as a brannock device.

When you give authority to leave, you are allowing our carriers to leave the package unattended at your address without a signature. Please note if you opt to leave your order unattended, Bprimal will not be responsible for any lost or stolen packages.

You can elect to have your package delivered with a signature on delivery for an additional $2 fee.

Express Shipping is also available from AU$16.95 (2-4 business days)

International Shipping is available to New Zealand from AU$19.95

All orders placed prior to Midday (AEST) will be dispatched the same day (business days Mon-Fri) with the exception of Sale Periods where we may experience up to 3 day delay for dispatch.

RETURNS

If your order isn’t right for you, you can return it for a refund* or exchange within 30 days of receiving your order. Item must be unworn and in BRAND NEW condition in original box with tags still attached (if applicable). Please note that postage costs to return the item(s) to bprimal remain the customers responsibility with the exception of Australian customers that have purchased our Free Return Guarantee.

Awesome lightweight hiking boots with thin flexible sole and heaps of padding around heel keeps foot insulated. Waterproof yes, out of the box these boots dont need breaking in. Affordable yes (compared to other brands).
FREET FIX: the toebox needs to be the widest part of the shoe, not less than or equal to width of forefoot. Make toebox wide like belenka nevada.

My larger foot is 24x10cm and meduim/high volume, I tried the size 39 I found these to be quite squishy on my outer 2 toes and too hot for the climate. Probably more a shape problem then a size problem. B primal were great to help me exchange for something else.

An excellent boot. I’ll be buying another pair.

What Is A Barefoot Shoe?

Which Outsole Should I Choose?

Freet currently have 3 outsoles:

GripPlus – suitable for trail use. This compound and grip layout gives superb traction for the trail. Available on some 5in1 and all 4+1 styles.

MultiGrip – proven grip & durability for road, pavement and gym use. Also effective on better quality, less steep trail.

EasyGrip – excellent connectivity. Suitable for smoother surfaces outside and indoors including travel and everyday.

What Size Do I Need?

Please note that all Freet shoes fit slightly differently – please scroll down to the sizing and fitting information on each individual product page to see the specific information for each shoe.

How Do I Know If My Shoes Fit?

Fit is a matter of personal preference – some people like their shoes snug while others prefer a more relaxed fit. When you receive your shoes spend some time, wearing them indoors to get used to them and decide whether they are right for you. Be aware that if you are used to more ‘conventional’ shoes, you might initially feel that the shoes feel a bit unstructured. This will soon wear off and your feet will appreciate their new found freedom to spread and move naturally. Another point to remember is that the flexibility of the outsole means that the shoes move with your feet which means you can wear them looser without causing blisters.

Do I Need To Transition To Barefoot Shoes?

Because Freet shoes have a wide toebox to allow toes to move and spread naturally, no heel (zero drop) and a fully flexible outsole, you may need to take things steady to adapt from your previous more ‘traditional’ shoes. This might take a few days or a few months to transition.

How Do I Clean My Shoes?

If Freet shoes are dirty on the outside, you can wipe them with a damp cloth.

If you wish to wash out the inside, use lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Pour a little water into the shoes and using your finger, gently rub around to remove any dirt. Rinse with clean lukewarm water, empty out and dry away from direct heat. You could put some newspaper inside the shoes to speed up drying time.

What Products Should I Use To Care For My Freets?

Gentle, water based, products, such as those made by Nikwax are recommended for conditioning and waterproofing. See each product page for specific information for that particular style of shoe.

Nice shoes but the wrong shape for me

I really wanted to like these shoes. I have bought quite a few shoes from bprimal before, so I was confident the sizing tool was accurate for my size. I bought the recommended size, but when it arrived it looked too big and felt too roomy on my feet. I returned it for the smaller size. When this arrived, they looked really nice on, but the toe box seemed too shallow. So I applied some leather stretcher and all seemed good. They are ok for short walks, but on longer walks, I experienced pain and bruising in my 2nd toe and toe nail. It turns out the be lenka shoes are a more extreme barefoot shape than my foot, as my big toe is shorter than my 2nd toe. They are lovely shoes, and I do still occasionally wear them, but disappointed I couldn't use them the way I wanted to. So, check the shape of your feet before you buy these!

I have Morton’s neuroma and capsulitis on both feet and this allows my toes to spread and not need an orthotic. Fantastic! I bought the white then the black. They are also incidentally a very cute and trendy style.
