Fit great from the first try. Tried a size USM9 in Vivo and they were too big and the size 8 was too small. The Lems zen fits perfectly and is comfortable straight out of the box.
Nick P.
A great show. Love the width with lots of room and comfort
Michael M.
Very comfortable, information was right about getting 0.5 size bigger. Fits great, will recommend it.
Matthew H.
Wrong size order and by the time I had sent the wrong size back the new size was already on its way, Unreal service.
Rohan B.
Lems shoes are awesome!! Never buying standard shoes again
Katarina G.
Comfy, supportive and stylish!
Jim B.
Ordered the wrong size and the return process was hassle free. Got the correct size now and love the fit. I wear them all day at work and do not feel the need to take them off when I get home. Definitely planning on buying my second pair.
Julian B.
As I’ve owned US size 14 Primals’ before I’m used to the fit. I find that for the same size the Zen Asphalt is slightly snug and ideally would have preferred a half size larger - unfortunately, not available.
rachel h.
I was surprised how comfy these are. Once I got used to the barefoot design my feet have loved them. I wear them most days including my training sessions.
Nicole G.
I bought these shoes for work in retail and my daily walk. They did not disappoint! Finally a shoe that can accommodate my wide foot - my toes felt like they were having a party there was so much space!! If you are on your feet all day I highly recommend. Will be getting another pair of Lems as my go to casual day shoe. I never realized how cramped my toes were in regular shoes until I tried these.
Guy M.
The best most comfortable bare foot minimalist shoes I've ever worn
Andrew B.
I usually take a size 12 or 12.5 u.s depending on the brand. I went with a 12.5 for these as most people rate them as fitting small, and they fit perfectly.
I found other barefoot shoes too hard on my feet and I developed painful corns. The little bit of cushion in these makes all the difference.
janine h.
My new favourite barefoot shoes. So comfortable, nice wide toe box and great for all around daily wear. I took the insoles out to make them more barefoot and they are still super comfy.
Sarah F.
Loving my new Lems Primal Zen! They seem smaller than Lems Primal 2 which I've been wearing for years. Returned for a larger size - which was a super easy process. A lot less ground-feel than the Primal 2s, but that's to be expected. Plenty of toe room, and they are neat enough I'm able to wear them to work in the office.
Gary
Shoe seems to be well made but the sizing seems quite small even going a size up also quite a slow turnaround when I returned previous size, was told this was due to staff shortages. The stack height is a bit higher and the shoe feels a bit soft underfoot, as I have been on my barefoot journey for 15 months it feels like a backwards step and I found them quite painful due to being so soft. Will probably try them without the insole and use them as spares. Probably would be a good starting point for someone look to transition into the barefoot world.
Carlos D.
Beautifully made shoes, though the toe box is a bit smaller than I expected and I have thin feet. Maybe other Lems shoes would offer more toe space
I'm still transitioning to minimalist shoes so it's too early for me to say how good they are
Thanks for putting so much effort in making a shoe that make our feet healthier. Keep up the good work!
Paul B.
I take size US12, I got size 12 and they are fine to wear casually but I actually find them absolutely fantastic as running shoes. When I run longer distances they are just slightly on the small side length wise.
Trevor C.
Solid well built shoe, a little more supportive than the other lems primal. I strongly suggest you print out the size guide and check your foot against it as the sizing suggestion was not at all close I had to send it back. Return process was however very easy.
Miles F.
They fit smaller than my other shoes, I normally wear US14 and buy as wide as possible. There's two issues with my fit: the mid sole and arch are too tight for my wide feet even with removing the inner soles, the other thing is length is a fraction shorter than my regular shoes as well with my big toe still hitting the end of the shoe. I forgot to check box for a $2 return insurance, so can't afford to courier them back to Australia from New Zealand.
Neil S.
Fantastic shoes, great to walk in and thoroughly recommend them.
Josh W.
Shoes fit perfect, was a bit worried they were not going to a good fit buying online, however they were. Best shoes iv ever had. Nga mihi
Michael P.
Great, quality product. Would definitely buy another pair when my current ones wear out.
Karl S.
Brilliant everyday shoes.
Tony B.
I've been wearing LEMS for over 10 years. they are my go-to shoes and the brand that convinced me to transition to barefoot shoes.
Last year I purchased my first pair of Primal Zen Lems. I'm a roofing contractor and always looking for a shoe that will meet the rigorous test and daily pressure my trade imposes.
So about 6 months ago I put the Primal Zens to the daily roofing test and my oh my, what a surprise, these Primal Zens keep on keeping on and the bonus is my feet feel great after a full day's slog on a roof.
Just purchased a second pair for leisure wear.
Shalia T.
Bought these shoes in my usual size 9 but found they were too small. Luckily my partner tried them on and loved them straight away so she kept them and I bought a size 10 and they fit so well. Comfiest shoes I’ve ever worn! Takes a bit of time to adjust, my hips have been a bit sore but with some stretching and walking it resolved. I can’t go back to my regular shoes now, these are too good! Also bought a pair of the boulder boots for work. They’re great too.
Steven K.
The product description states these shoes are true to size but I found them too small. I purchased the $1.99 return to get the next size up but the return process is very slow. I dropped them off at a sendle location and after 3 business days the tracking has shown they have only just left my home town. At this rate I am not expecting to receive the correct size for some weeks.
Robert W.
Ok happy with shoes
Thomas W.
Was looking for a good sports shoe able to help correct my overlapping toes from years of wearing too narrow of shoes. This shoes are perhaps one of the lightest shoes I’ve had. These shoes are wide enough that I can wear my ‘correct toes’ orthotics within my shoes. With the combo of this in 7 days my foot has expanded back out with less toes overlapping and I experiencing less pain on pinky toe bunion already and now have some gaps between my other toes. Good shoes!
Gary W.
Wore them while playing 18 holes of golf. Very comfortable. Have thrown out my golf shoes.
Petah M.
The Primal Zens are perfect for walking the dogs on hard pavements.
While I prefer less stack height and more ground feel in my usual shoes, these have the extra cushioning that I need on city surfaces since fracturing a metatarsal.
Size ran small compared to my usual brand (Freet), but 1/2 size larger is fine.
The assistance from bprimal was very helpful.
All in all happy with these shoes.
Sheila M.
I’m still wearing them in! I wear them with no socks and have had zero problems with my feet … very comfortable and surprisingly sturdy for such a lightweight shoe. My leg muscles need to get used to walking in a slightly different way so I’m wearing them in so that I don’t overdo it! I went for an hour walk in them today and no worries!! I’m really happy with these shoes!
Thomas P.
Great first pair of zero drop shoes. A word of caution, the sizes run a little small compared to normal shoes for to the different shaped toe box. I recommend going at least a half size larger. Unfortunately I first wore mine to work and could not exchange them for a slightly larger pair.
Daniel K.
These are my second pair of Primal Zen, I have a pair in white but wanted the black ones to be easier to keep clean.
So comfortable, amazing shoes for wearing on the sidewalk where you need a bit of cushioning.
Petah M.
Very comfortable shoes but a bit short in length ( my feet seem to have lengthened after a year in barefoot shoes), so I’ve ordered a size up to compare the fit.
I normally wear Freet so am used to a lower stack height and more ground feel, but, due to injury I ordered these for the extra padding/ protection whilst walking the dogs on city streets.
I think that they will be fine once I work out the length.
Lems are great as transitional shoes, or for those who need a bit more protection due to health or environmental issues.
Zak R.
Literally the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn, and that's a lot! I have very wide feet, like very wide. And these are the only shoes I have ever worn that I don't want to just rip off by the end of the day. Thank you Less, for building a great asset to my training and every day wardrobe!
- Zak
Melanie C.
I’m so happy I decided to give these a try. They seem to be very well made and are really comfortable. I work in aged care which can be pretty active - once I have these on with my Creepers socks I don’t think about my feet at all. I have worn barefoot shoes before but prefer the slightly thicker but still flexible sole of the Zens. Will definitely buy again.
Nathan M.
Very comfortable fit. My feet don't feel crushed. Wide toe boxed shoes are the future.
Lloyd S.
Love this pair of Primal Zen shoes. The wide toe box provide a lot of comfort and so roomy for my arthritic feet and crooked toes.
Lloyd S.
Love the shoes! The toe box and width are very comfortable for my boney feet and they can breathe well! It’s cool to have happy feet again. Love the shoes so much that I bought a size 10 that fits a lot better. Even my wife has two pairs of these shoes! And she is very happy wearing them. Thank heaps bprimal! Oh! The service was excellent!
Jorrit v.
The shoes seem to be built to a high standard and look airy and comfy. Unfortunately the size does run smaller than most shoes and so I would recommend going up half a size from what you would normally wear.
Alison R.
Toebox is nice but I think Lems is taking us all for a ride with their “Boulder Colorado” label on the shoe. Make no mistake, these are just synthetic shoes made in China and nothing special at all.
Jon T.
April B. was very helpful in giving me the conversion numbers between EU and US shoe sizing and, on the strength of this, I ordered US M10/W11.5 as equivalent to EU43.
While I was waiting for them to arrive, I got the StrutFit app working and was able to see what size StrutFit had calculated I should be wearing. To my dismay, StrutFit said I should be wearing US M8.5/W10!
There was a period of worry while the shoes flew across the Tasman then finally made it out of Auckland and were delivered early on a Saturday morning... just in time for me to take them out to Kahuterawa Reserve to try them out.
To my great relief, the size I had ordered WAS the correct size - StrutFit had put me crook and caused me no little amount of concern. Damned good thing I didn't get StrutFit working before I ordered the shoes.
The shoes are comfortable, there's ample padding under your feet but they're still flexible enough to conform to the terrain. Seem fine on gravel, dirt and grass; it was a fine day so I didn't get a chance to test them out in the wet.
Jim T.
These are beautifully balanced lightweight trainers that feel great on and like you can do anything in them. I am an altra lone peak fan normally but wanted something a bit different and these are awesome. I wish I’d worn shoes like this my whole life. I always buy shoes 1 size up these days and glad I did again with these as I like plenty of wriggle room for my toes. 5stars!
Daniel D.
Extremely happy with this purchase so far. Waiting on delivery of some toe socks before I can properly benefit from the wide toe box but the fit is spot on and the shoes look and feel great. Rating of “good” rather than “excellent” for quality is solely based on newness. Very hard to make thorough judgement on quality after only having owned the shoes for a short time. Very happy with them to this point and plan to buy some more when other colours are available in my size.
Jane B.
Very good service, excellent shoes.
Kate A.
I've absolutely thrashed my Lems for the past three months. They have become my everything shoe for in the gym, every thing from running on the treadmill (for upto 10km daily) to lifting. I have wide feet and these have done my overall posture amazingly. I couldn't recommend them more
Elizabeth L.
First pair and i love them.
Feet already feeling soooo much better after wearing them.
My toes, feet, legs and hips have had issues for year and i learnt that so much ofnthe issues stemmed from my feet issues. I love walking and i walk a lot and i can feel how much better my walk and body is already feeling using these shoes. I have been using toes spacers for a while now and will continue too along with the foot exercises. Definitely not going back to my old squishy sneakers.
Thank you guys!
Sophie T.
True to size, shipping was efficient. Following advice to ease into wearing them as these are my first set of barefoot shoes but so far finding them comfortable.
Lucy M.
Excellent shoes and quick delivery. I was sceptical about the sizing like others but the advice and tool that estimates by scanning your foot was accurate.
Arby M.
I initially had a half size too big but exchanging was easy and I'd paid for the size return guarantee. The size guide said "stand with the back of your bare foot BARELY touching the wall". Perhaps I took this too literally.
Anyway, I loved the open toe box from the moment I first put them on. So comfortable for everyday wear. I tried them for a 3km jog, mostly on pavement, and didn't particularly like it. Think I'll stick to jogging in shoes with padding for now but I might try again sometime. This won't be the last pair of roomy-toed shoes I buy, that's for sure.
Paul W.
They are really good and even better now. I pulled out the cork insole and put in a Freet 3mm insole and I haven't really taken them off since. Don't just take my word for it, order some and try them on in your lounge. I'll bet that you will forget that they're on and go for a walk, without thinking.
Tyson N.
Great shoe, love the stack height. Provides that extra cushioning for urban wear. Fits true to size and super comfy! Ordering a second pair
Andrew H.
Since getting these a few weeks I haven’t worn anything else! I also have a pair of primal 2 which I struggle with for longer periods. If you’re looking for a little more underfoot but still with a wide toe box these are great!!
zorica m.
They are really great, hopping that will last at least a year.
Nicholas W.
I am very happy with my first pair of barefoot shoes. They are very comfortable and would recommend them to anyone buying their first pair of barefoot shoes.
Zarko P.
Love them, thank you.
Scott W.
These are my first barefoot/wide-toe box shoes and I'm converted! I love them, the quality is good, they're light, they have enough sole that I don't feel every pebble on the path and I'm comfortable all day.
Jonathan D.
Pretty true to size but a tad tighter and shorter than my Primal 2 shoes.
My fave shoes for running on hard surfaces, plus they look more like normal runners so ok for casual wear.
Planning to get a suede pair for the office.
Anton T.
Bit uncomfortable perhaps because it is new? Other than that i am excited to wear this good shoe
Andrew M.
Awesome shoes. Super comfy and great on cement.
Mark L.
Incredibly comfortable and light.
Edward C.
Amazingly comfy and lightweight at the same time as feeling like a well made pair of shoes.
Vinicius A.
Great quality materials, flexible, light, breathable mesh on top and plenty space for my toes. Love at first sight!
Ross B.
These feel great. Best shoes I've worn. I had to order a size up. Considering buying a second pair :)
Wes C.
Love the shoes, much prefer these over the VIVO’s though the sizing was close to a size too small to my normal fitting.
Great shoe and will be getting more in the future.
David E.
First pair of barefoot I've tried and surprised with the comfort. Very happy
Linda B.
I'm usually a US Women's size 10 in joggers or 42 EUR but the foot size guide indicated a whopping 11.5. Woa! Ordered anyway thinking they would be returned as way too big for sure. BUT... they are a perfect fit. Haven't tried them with the Correct Toes as yet.
Wore them in the office the first day to make sure they were a good fit and then the next morning did a two-hour power walk and jog.... fantastic! No blisters, no problems, perfect! Lesson, trust the size guide!
My old ASICS are US 10/42EUR but when I measure them sole to sole with the 11.5 Lems Primal Zen, they are the same length. Go figure!
There are many mysteries in the universe and shoe sizing is up there with the greatest mysteries of all.
Love these shoes. I have a very high arch, high instep and a Morton's Neuroma, so now wish I had taken the jump to wide toe-box barefoot joggers years ago.
BTW: Visually no-one would know they are so different from standard joggers.
I will be purchasing a pair for my 14yo big foot grandson as he has problems with ingrown toenails from narrow toebox shoes.
Love LEMS!
Michael W.
The Primal Zen is really comfortable. I’m usually a size 14us. Based on the foot measurement I was on the cusp between size 14 and 15 and went for the Smaller. My big toe was touching the end so I had to arrange an exchange. Bprimal were really helpful and made the exchange process easy.
Michael S.
Good transition shoe. These are noticeably stiffer than Primal 2's.
Loses 1 star as it's just not as comfortable as my Lems Primal 2's and also not a fan of the cork sole, seems to make my feet sweat.
Rowena s.
Added the extra length as suggested and so purchased a size 11 US instead of the usual 10. Great fit. Very comfortable straight up. I am new to zero drop and barefoot shoes, so was curious about how they would feel. My feet feel better than they have in years and I am inky two weeks in.
Kate B.
Great runners, really comfortable. Definitely follow the photo sizing tool.
Luke C.
These are a very nice shoe. Excellent quality and fit. I'm usually a US9 and these are spot on. Very light and minimal but still strong. Perfect for warmer weather. Only shoe I like to wear without socks.
Krys S.
I find them comfortable with the thicker sole but need to use a shoe horn to put them on because if the sewn in tongue.
Gethin W.
Went half a size up in the end. Super comfy!
Gaelle G.
These Primal Zens are the best minimalist shoes I’ve had in years. I’ve loved primal2 in the past, but these are next level.
Thanks Bprimal!
Natalie J.
Love my new LEMS! Quality made and a perfect fit.
Zara D.
I purchased these shoes as the next step in my transition to minimalist shoes. I originally had a pair of Altra Escalante's for daily wear and gym. Since purchasing the Primal Zen i haven't had any issues with less cushioning. They are comfortable, have a wide toe box and have plenty of adjustment for low volume feet.
The design is very robust and the mesh allows plenty of breathability in the gym or out walking.
Shellee C.
A perfect introduction to barefoot shoes with extra support. Perfect for long days on my feet & walking my dogs. Comfortable & light weight. I just need a pair in white!
Adam M.
First time wearing barefoot shoes and I kept my old supported runners in case I needed a long transition but after only a week, I wont ever go back to conventional running shoes!
Barefoot shoes are life!
Harry Q.
Good shoes. No issues at all. Little pricey for what they are but honestly they are decent.
Colin D.
Great service.
Had to return, due to shoes running a half size too small, but no problems for bprimal.
Stan Cortes
Very nice shoes from the get go. It fits in perfectly. Comfortable and breathable.
Better than I expected!
Michael Torn
These are easily the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on my feet!
Have in a couple of colours and will buy more when they do eventually wear out.
Derek Stirling Kerr
This is my 2nd pair of Lems (have a pair of the waterproof Boulder Boot I wear every day for work). They're both excellent. The Primal Zen is a great, lightweight, breathable shoe. The wider toe space is awesome. Has made such a difference to my feet!
But WARNING: I had to go a full size bigger than what the site measurement profile recommends. That said, bprimal have been awesome with doing the swap over. Great service.
Ms Sarah Tan
First pair I ordered were too small but I was able to return and have the correct size delivered.
The shoes were exactly what I expected, wide foot shaped shoe with a thicker footbed than the other barefoot shoes. Able to run in them quite comfortably compared to Vivo’s. Training in the gym is a joy with these shoes, perfect groundfeel, good traction. Will see how long they last, currently 2 months in.
Sam Whillance
So comfortable. They balance themselves laterally more than the original Primals (which could be good or bad depending on your needs). No blisters.
Sam Whillance
Very comfortable. Better than original Primals. These have a larger loop at the heel, so you can get your whole finger in to pull them on.
Elastic caterpy laces are a great upgrade to this shoe. It should be sold with elastic laces on them.
Wojciech Klepacki
Zen Primal boots are undoubtedly the best pair I had in my entire life. And the service is second to none.
Ulrike Moran
Having bought Lems Chukka, which is my most comfortable shoe and hard to take off, I bought the Primal Zen for work. Again a very comfortable and breathable shoe, great for work, where I am on my feet all day.
Craig
I recently bought a pair of Lems Primal Zen shoes. They are hands down the most comfortable pair of shoes I've worn to date. It's like freeballing for your toes ;-)
Initially I was told there would be an up to 3 week wait for delivery, however they came within a week. I couldn't be happier and look forward to purchasing more Lems shoes in the future.
Cheers
Christopher Rowell
So good, got these as my first pair of barefoot shoes. Stopped wearing 'normal' shoes immediately. Been pretty rough with them and seem to be holding up well
Elliot
Very comfortable and great looking foot shaped shoe. Highly recommend!
Mike McGuire
I got the Woodbine first and they were so good I got the Asphalt ones. What more can I say !!!
Tim Bransdon
As a long time wearer of the Lems Primal 2, and having recommended them to many clients from my podiatry practice over the years, I was excited to test the Primal Zen. The Primal Zen fit and felt the same as the Primal 2, which is how it has been advertised. I have already recommended the Zen to clients who will benefit from a bit more rubber under their feet for high volume walking compared with the Primal 2.
Mike Palmer
Amazing! Best shoes I own! "Zen" is an appropriate description for my experience. They're super wide, perhaps not quite as wide as the primal 2, which I also own, but wide enough still for my super-wode feet. The sole is stable - doesn't taper thinner left and right as does the primal 2. If there were some more colour options I'd buy another pair. I've also found the extra wide version Whtin shoes great, but there are a few aspects that aren't quite perfect whereas these get my highest rating across every aspect like traction, feet don't slide around, I like having some tread, plus to me they look better.
Melissa Will
I have bought these for travel around Europe. They were used for all my adventures and everyday wear. They were extremely comfortable, I have finally found my perfect shoe. They are my everyday shoe, from workout to walking. Thank you Less for making the Primal Zens!!!! They are the best.
Peter Banicevic
I have worn Lems for years, I still think the Primal ones are best, I like the Zen primal, same Lems quality, zero drop, good build but should be priced lower, not worth the extra IMO, still good!
