Featuring Joe Nimble’s signature Toefreedom® toe box, it gives your big toe the freedom to perform its natural stabilising role — providing around 85% of forefoot stability — essential for surefootedness on rugged terrain.

The hydrophobic-coated textile upper (PFC-free) offers lightweight water resistance, while the breathable felt lining keeps feet cosy and comfortable even in very cold climates. The 10 mm EVA midsole with zero heel-to-toe drop delivers the perfect balance of cushioning, flexibility, and ground feel, promoting a natural walking posture.

Developed in partnership with Soles by Michelin®, the trail outsole with a 4 mm lug tread ensures excellent grip on low to mid-mountain terrain. SIZING & FIT GUIDE

Our Fit recommendation for this shoe based on customer feedback: Fit is Small-Average, some people wear 1/2 size larger than their normal UK size in this model do to low volume at the front of the shoe, especially important if you wish to wear thick socks.

If you don't know your normal UK size, or would like to double check sizing for this model, please use the sizing tools we have provided here like this:

1. Print out our Printable Size Guide for this model and stand on it - making sure your printer is set to 100% Scale. Choose the size where your longest toe finishes. If you are on the line, consider if you will be wearing thick socks, or prefer to have less or more space in your shoes and choose accordingly.

2. Use our Strutfit online sizing app to check your feet measurement and it will tell you what size to order - Click on "WHAT IS MY SIZE?" above. You will need an a4 sheet of paper and a smartphone for this. Once you have done this once, it will also tell you what size you need for all the other shoes on our website as you browse through other models.

3. Use the sizing chart provided which shows the insole length and width of the shoe which you can use to compare the measurements against another pair of shoes that fit you well. Or you can compare them with a sizing chart from another brand and work out your size that way. This is not a fool-safe way though, as the volume and material in the upper of the shoe can also make a big difference to the fit so best to use this in conjunction with one of the other sizing methods.

We don't recommend manually measuring your feet to work out sizing, as in our experience most people measure incorrectly without the use of a proper tool such as a brannock device.

RETURNS

The boots arrived very quickly, only a few days after I had ordered them. I used the online strufit sizing program, and found it to be accurate. I went up half a size to enable thick socks, and the sizing was perfect.
When I first put the boots on they felt immediately lovely, light and comfortable. So much so that I wore them around the streets for the next 3 weeks. I did this to try them out before taking them on an extended bush walk carrying a pack. But I wore them more around the streets and out to various places, just because they felt so terrific. The only slight negative was that I found that the grip was not ideal when I was negotiating some wet steps in the rain one day. The soles slipped quite a bit, but maybe this could happen with any boots. Everyone has to be careful in wet slippery conditions.
However I had really intended them for bushwalking hikes. I wore them, carrying a pack, hiking 20 kms each way, to the Wilson’s Promontory National Park Lighthouse in Victoria. My companions thought that hiking boots should be heavier than these, to withstand tougher terrain and to be more supportive and protective for ankles and feet. However I found these Joe Nimble wonder toes to be sufficiently protective. The sole is not too thin - I wanted the zero drop but I also wanted a decent thickness in the sole to proctect against sharp stones etc, and these boots fulfilled that requirement for me. Also further to the previous comment about slipping on wet surfaces. I did not experience any slipping on wet rocks whilst on the hike. Maybe the soles just needed to wear that new smoothness off a bit. I don’t know, but in any case I had absolutely no issues whilst hiking wearing these boots.
I like that the tongue is attached which keeps it in place - I have had other boots where the tongue moves around under the laces and lets dirt, stones and water etc in. I used to be very aware of the heaviness of other boots. Hard to describe, as it is a thing that I’m sure most hikers just accept and get used to. But I used to feel it weighed my feet (and me) down. So relative to this, these Joe Nimbles felt delightfully light and so comfortable. Never even a hint of a blister.
I found the boots easy and quick to take on and off. I loved hiking along wearing these boots.

They are so good to wear in the Australian outback lightweight but supportive!

Really comfortable and fit well - I bought slightly larger than my normal and feel like they are just right for wearing with thick socks. I have slipped in my contoured insoles for extra arch support for my weird feet and there's still plenty of toe room in the generous toe box. Very happy.

The care in packaging of these boots spoke columns to the values of bPrimal. Beautiful and careful craftsmanship, absolute buttery feel on the feet straight out of the box, toe box had ample wriggle room (even with double socks) and a supple feel when laced tight across the foot bridge. The almost barefoot experience without the discomfort of sharp rocky terrain was very much appreciated. I’ve only been on the two dry hikes with them so can not attest to longevity.

Now my feet and toes won't rub!

Lovely fabric and perfect sizing! They accomodate the toe spacers well and when I walk, I marvel at the comfort when I walk. The transition from what I was wearing before to now is a game changer!

These guys really know their stuff. Excellent presentation.

Fortunately for me I was able to take some time off work and with the nice weather and amid the dormant bindies was able to prepare my feet by barefoot walking on soft grass to sand and stones half an hour each day! Hence, being able to adjust to the essential toe spacers quickly!
The shoes are absolutely divine to wear. It has only been two weeks and already I feel a shift in how my feet feel.
