A couple of weeks ago I received my first Shamma sandals (Warriors) and was so impressed that I immediately ordered the Ibex for hiking. They are very well made, the strapping system is ingenious and allows people with either low or high volume feet to wear the sandals comfortably and securely, and bprimal’s service was - as always - excellent.

Its a bit too loose around the thong area, for I did notice that it tends to feel loose from side-to-side. Pretty good sandal but im looking to return them for that reason

I bought these to wear on a long trim to Vietnam. Have only tried them at home and they are super comfortable, sturdy and work well with toe socks as well. Will know more after my trip. Only negative is that the package arrived smelling like petrol - guess it was the smell of the rubber. The smell dissipated after a couple days out of the package.

Seemed awesome but had to return for smaller size. My problem not the shoe!

Worth the wait. They feel very secure and are easy to adjust.

Absolutely love these!

The Shamma Ibex have become my favorite sandals. They are comfortable, stylish, versatile, rugged and long lasting. I can wear them hiking and then dress them up with a skirt for an evening out. An excellent replacement for the Chacos I used to wear. Highly recommend!

It seems I have pretty low-volume feet, and the sandal is a bit hard to fit even after following online instructions -- the plastic bit on top rubs a bone in my foot, and the velcro extends quite far out when tightened. As a result, the sandal isn't super comfortable.

Comfy, sturdy hiking sandals. Shamma makes awesome shoes -- hopefully they'll add close-toed vegan options someday.

Got to share that the Ibex is really terrific grip for dry decomposed granite trail running - very satisfied w/light and responsive these treads w/little lugs really are! Previous pair was Maximus which tread material not as durable as Ibex for hard gritty granite steep trails in foothills. Thanks for new tread option!

The two best things about shama sandals: they are flexible enough to provide a really nice barefoot feel but cushion enough to provide adequate protection. They got the balance just right. The second thing is the strap system. Nobody does it better. You have infinite adjustments available to get the perfect fit.

I got the sandals with the leather bottom and they have to be the most comfortable things I’ve ever put on my feet

Its been awesome.A friend recommended I try the Ibex Sandal.Love them so much

Light, tough, supportive sandal.
The strap system is simple and secure, easy to adjust. Ask questions and take measurements to get your sandal size and strap size right.
Ibex Works well when wet, and in tough terrain. I use for daily activities, walking, hiking, rocky beach, etc. (I’m not a runner, so see other reviews about that.)
Much appreciated, and give these a try

I love these sandals. I can walk and hike without any knee pain since I am use it.

I have worn the Warrior and Maximus in the past and LOVE those sandals. I went with the ibex this time because the more aggressive sole appealed to me. The first thing I noticed is that the straps are not as nice as on my previous models and the food bed is not nearly as wide. I wear a solid 4E shoe width and with my Warriors especially I felt like I had room around my foot! With the Ibex (same size) I am at the edge with my toes - slightly disappointing since that was a big driver for my originally buying this brand of sandals.
The tread is nice and aggressive and the foot bed is comfortable like my Maximus sandals were. The strap system adjusted to where I like to wear them without too much issue.
The pegs that hold the straps in were not cut well into the tread but with some wiggling and convincing they have dropped into place a little better and I can’t really feel them. I do miss the original strap arrangement I had with my very first Warriors where the strap just wrapped around the foot bed edges though.
I probably would not buy the Ibex again and will got back to the Warrior or Maximus and hope the footbed gets a bit wider again. I will wear these into the ground first though!

2nd pair, (1st was Super Goats). Highly recommend! Love the flexibility of the sole, even though they're on the thicker side. Was a little worried about the side posts on the Ibex, but they are no problem. I also love that the midsole is more tapered-some other brands are wider there. Shamma fit my feet great, and I recommend them all the time!

I like everything about these sandals except for adjusting the straps. It’s like an IQ test. It would be helpful if I had a link for a video for my specific sandal. I’m honestly frustrated.

Good functional product.

Last summer, it was so hot in parts that my feet were literally tenderized in my barefoot walking shoes ... so that I run some distances actually without shoes, completely barefoot.
Stupidly I had not plugged my Shammas ...
ANd now I have discovered the new IBEX and ordered immediately, because with the profile Vibram sole this is exactly the barefoot shoe that I was still missing for hiking in the summer.
I am excited about the first tours with it.
Today I got them and the first impression is great: great workmanship and good look.

Wonderful sandals the lbex was everything I expected. I love the grip and the weight of the sandal is light and fits trail running perfectly. This is my fourth pair of shamma sandals and I love them all. I run ultra marathons in the mountain goats and I can't wait to try the ibex on longer distances.

I love my Shamma sandals. Whenever I can, I run my workouts in them and like to wear them in everyday life.

I have 2 pairs of the Mountain Goats, which are amazing for varied use and terrain, from road and trail runs as well as casual every day use. Though sometimes I wish I had something with more aggressive tread for more challenging trails. The Ibex is what I have been waiting for and they perform really well. I find that I have more stable footing when landing and pushing off on trail inclines and declines. They are also great on softer, mud surfaces. They are okay on roads...I don't feel the tread like one would feel using a Vivobarefoot SG (soft ground) trail shoe or Xero Terreflex. The tread is too spaced apart on those so one could feel them when running on concrete. But on the Ibex I do find they are slightly louder and feel harder against concrete than the Mountain Goats. I find that on trails is where they excel. I use them for hikes and runs on trails and they are awesome.

The new IBEX sandals have arrived! Needless to say, I couldn't wait to try them out right after unpacking. So here's a short report about the first 50 kms on the trail. Bottom line: the IBEX model is extremely well made! Congratulations to Shamma. A clear 5-star rating.
Now let's get into some more details
The design: a thick, sturdy, strong sole - like an SUV for trails and yet pliable and flexible and anything but stiff as a board - which you might expect at first glance. I had a great running feeling from the first meters. At first I thought: IBEX will be my favorite for all hiking activities, then I tested them while running, i.e. trail running over gravel and in the forest, and that also goes with the IBEX really dynamic.
The new Elite 2.0 lacing system: a big step forward is the now softer strap system, consisting of a wide, thin and soft toe strap! My feet loved it immediately. Just as I had wanted for many years.
Note: This is a first impression. For the 1st look: Top. 5 stars.

I got the ibex leather editions, and they’re hands down better than my Lunas and deliberate life designs. The strap system is more intricate and secure, and my soles don’t slip around on the super comfortable leather footbed. Not to mention very stylish!

The Ibex is a great addition to the Shamma Line-up. Superb traction from the Zegema sole and the UltraGrip footbed. The Elite Lacing System 2.0 is very secure and comfortable. These sandals enable you to tackle steep terrain both up and down with confidence. Definitely recommend these.

Excellent product

These are now my favorite trail running shoes. They have a very nice balance between good ground feel and excellent traction. I've run on a variety of surfaces, wet, dry and gravelly, and the soles stick beautifully to it all. They're also comfortable, and adjustable enough to work well with or without toe socks, depending on the weather.
