Shamma - Maximus - Ultragrip (Unisex)

Outstanding! They are amazing on muddy trails and ok on concrete. I have these and the warriors with a leather finish. Overall, I prefer the maximus, but both are outstanding.

I spent a great deal of time researching what would be the best fit for me. I have been wearing vibram five finger for years and wanted a sandal that would fit me like a glove and be tough enough to handle the challenges. The Shama Maximus ultra grip feels great so far. I’ve only had them for a few days. With a vibram sole I expect longevity and great grip. Happy to use these sandals in all situations

I have tried a lot of different running sandals and Shamma sandals are by far the best. They fit really well, even in wet conditions, and don't chafe against my feet.

Great! Still getting used to something between my toes while I run but they’re a nice change of pace for slower runs for me!

The Warrior Maximus is my 4th pair of Shammas and they live up to every expectation. The Shamma elite lacing system adjusts quickly, requires no break in time, and feels silky smooth. After having a pair of Chargers and Warriors, I think the Warrior Maximus is the perfect combo of grip and just enough thickness. Shamma has also done custom work for me and they were very good to work with. They communicated well to make sure they understood what I wanted and I understood what was possible. I will keep coming back to Shamma for my sandal needs.

I use shamma sandals for everything. Treacherous hikes, trail running, CrossFit, yoga, grocery shopping, white water rafting (use straps), 5K runs and long distance running (I don’t recommend this as it is too high impact with little cushion). Don’t let your dogs get ahold of them because they will get chewed through.

I really love these sandals. The straps are super comfortable and I like the simplicity of slipping them on, the feel of the earth under my feet, and that these are waterproof!
Overall, I love them.

Amazing is the only word I have for my Shammas. I work in construction and normally wear boots 8 hours a day. My shammas have become my go-to after hours shoes. Everyday, no days off. If I ever wear these out, I will surely be back for another pair!

I’ve gone through several shoes/sandals for my fore foot striking and I wish I started with the Shamas earlier.

I really enjoy adjustability and adaptability of these sandals. I wear them every day to work (massage therapist in luxury spa) and I am able to go hiking and adventuring in them. The power straps are an awesome addition, though they are still very secure without them.

The only thing is when I first got them they wore right under my lateral malleolus on both feet. I thought I would have to mole skin them but ever since the first couple days, my skin has been fine.

The laces were easier to adjust than I expected, foot bed really comfortable, outside sole works great so far on both concrete sidewalks/paved streets, and dry trails. The 9mm total thickness sole still gives me that barefoot feel while protecting my feet from jagged rocks, and the larger dried creek bed rocks that are on the trails I'm hiking on, the sandals dry fairly quickly after hand washing them as well.

Spend 2-3 minutes setting them up and then you are all set. Great barefoot feel!

Extremely happy with my Shamma sandals, and the company. Wore my original Chargers for 2 years, and was looking to replace them with a similar sandal with a more rugged sole. Very happy with the Warriors Maximus! Put them on, adjusted them once, and forgot they were there!

I am not a runner, but I do hike and kayak, so I wanted a minimalist zero drop sports sandal that would “do it all”. I’m a former wearer of Chacos, but they are now too bulky and I no longer need something to support my arches since my feet have strengthened from barefoot walking and they support themselves. I tried some other brands of barefoot sandals but Shamma’s just worked perfectly for my foot shape. I love the way that once you have the straps adjusted right, the shoe just stays on your feet—no slipping or sliding, but also no pinching or strangling. The back strap is designed so that it doesn’t slip off your heel when you walk or run either. That has always been a problem for me with other sandals. The sole of the Warrior Maximus is just the right thickness for protection from pokey things, but thin and flexible enough for great ground feel.

My overall experience with Shamma has been wonderful. I have been wearing Xero Z-Trails for the last 3 years and this is my first pair of sandals outside of the z style lacing.

Some things I love about this sandal.

Lacing: the lacing system is incredibly comfortable after you get it dialed in correctly. My first 5k run in the sandals were a breeze. I did not have to worry about my foot slipping out nor did I have any hotspots from the lacing.

Grip: it was a hard decision on choosing between the leather and the ultra grip versions. I ultimately decided on the ultra grip due to the rare occasion I’m running around water. I have no regrets here. I have already tested these in the random rains we received here the past week and the sandals held up perfectly.

Comfort: I put these on and I forget I have anything on my feet. They provide a high level of comfort and a feeling of being barefoot while also protecting your feet random rocks and sharp objects on the trail.

Overall, I will be a Shamma customer for my sandals from here on it. My next purchase will be the Warriors in the LE version for my casual wear and maybe a few road runs.

I just got into sandals and this is my third pair of Shammas. I love my thin Warriors a lot, and got some all browns for casual use because you can easily slip them on and pull up the strap and they look cool. But the Warriors Max is for my specific use of running on long rural gravel roads that have just enough surprising cut rock to make 4mm unpleasant.

I really love the Shamma sandals. I use them predominantly for running covering about 30km a week. They are super comfortable and I now prefer them over shoes. I feel an improvement in my running posture and less running niggles and pains.

I tried 3 different brands until I finally bought the right ones. The warriors are really great! Super comfy, even on runs < 2hrs. Ian very happy now and confident that I won't get back into shoes (unless it is tooooo cold). Can't wait to run again ☺️👣✌️

What I love about my Shammas is that they’re not only the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever worn, but I also feel like I could spring into action at any moment while wearing them – something I don’t get from any other sandal.

The Warriors Maximus are an excellent thickness if you like Warriors but want a bit more protection. I love my regular Warriors for pavement or indoor use, but for hiking they are a bit too thin for the rocky Appalachian Trail. I think these might become my new daily drivers over the Warriors simply for the comfort factor while still allowing my foot to function naturally.

If you are deciding between the leather (LE) and ultragrip sole, I feel the ultragrip is superior for two reasons. 1) My Warriors LE are a bit slippery between my foot and the sole after a few months of use. This reduces my gait efficiency and makes some of my steps awkward as I compensate. 2) I would not take leather sandals in the water to prevent water damage, but rubber will not be impacted and will also dry faster.

Only 2 runs in and a first time running sandal wearer but I can't believe how good they feel! Trails are super rocky and hard packed where I live are they handle it no worries. I do hope they last okay. Didn't get power straps and haven't felt a need for them yet.

Running sandals always seemed more for advanced runners but I'm a total newbie and combining Maffetone Method with transitioning to sandals and it feels great.

I tried the mountain goats and the warriors first and I didn’t adapt to the terrain I normally run ,these ones do the are either too stiff or too soft ,I have on y run 100 kms in them so far so good

The Warriors Maximus may just be the perfect running sandal. They are the perfect balance between the lightness and flexibility of the regular Warriors and the heavy duty protection of the mountain goats. They strike a perfect balance for those of us who run a mixture of roads and trails in the same run. They are thick enough to handle all but the worst stones and thin enough to still be able to feel the road. The Chargers are nice but they are just too slippery with almost no tread on them whatsoever. The Maximus solves that problem nicely. If there is a downside it is the same downside with all the Shamma sandals and that is that they tend to wear out rather quickly. I find that after a couple of months I have to build up the worn out spots using Shoe Goo. Still, there is no running sandal on the market that has a better strapping system. Please don’t ever change this! Shamma sandals are the only sandals that actually stay secure on my feet without constant adjustment.
