Shamma - TrailStars Maximus - Ultragrip (Unisex)

I took a while to land on this purchase, after many weeks of research, but I've been really pleased with my final choice. They look presentable enough to wear everyday - (not too 'hikey' looking) - and they're the next best thing to going completely barefoot. I've worn them almost everyday - almost everywhere - since purchasing them a fortnight ago. If I walk a long way on cement paths, I find I need to step off onto the grass for a while, just to cushion my feet a bit. But mostly, I forget I'm wearing any shoes ... my feet feel FREE!

I love these sandals. They are very comfortable and the straps are lovely and soft. They are very straight forward to set up initially and once I got them exactly right I haven't needed to adjust them at all. Can't wait for the warmer weather!

the service was excellent. The size I ordered (they run small in my opinion) was too small so I returned them and got a new pair sent straight away. The new size was perfect. I have used them for walking and jogging and they’re great so far. Completely adjustable around the toes and upper feet.

My feet are about 25.3cm long and 10cm wide and I’ve found the size M8/W9.5 to be good, though I could also have gone a size up.
These are flexible, adjustable, and great for hiking rocky trails in.
I don’t think they will last very long as after one summer’s wear they are already looking pretty worn out, but they are very comfortable!

There are two lacing systems, the newest one allows you trim excess off the length but the supplier doesn't tell you this and may ship the old velcro version.
The ultragrip is for wet weather but the leather one feels better for dry runs.

Took a little adjustment to having a loop around my big toes, but they are soft and comfortable. They stay in place over varied terrain. A little wide in the toe box area for my feet, so tripped a bit as I got used to them. Considering getting a Stanley knife onto them to remove a bit of width. My toes have gaps between them so I will never need the extra width as I have medium width feet. Recommend them. Easy to fit too.

I love these sandals, they’re so comfortable. My only suggestion is to change the material on the insole. When I walk long distances the plastic scratches my feet.
Perhaps next time I’ll try the leather insoles instead.

The design is unique and helps hold the sandal to the foot better and once the sole breaks in the trail can be felt underfoot. I bought a similar thin sandal from xeroshoes and its made in china quality had the straps break off from the sandal within a year and into the trash it went.

Finally a sandal wide enough! Flexible, COMfY straps not needing break in period- LOVe!

I love my shammas! They have the look of chacos and way more comfortable. I’ve gotten several compliments on them. I will continue to purchase.

These are not my first barefoot shoes, but they ARE my first barefoot sandals. And I have to say, I’m obsessed with them. Each strap area being fully adjustable is so genius and makes the difference between almost comfortable and extremely comfortable. People have also been complimenting me on them unprompted!! I highly recommend these to anyone even sort of interested. I will be a returning customer for other styles, for sure.

I followed the instructions on fitting and the sandals are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. Looking forward to living in them all summer.

The straps are so supple yet supportive. Being able to get a custom fit on such stylish sandals is a dream. Love them - will definitely buy again.

While Warriors are my everyday go-to sandal, when I need a little extra protection—wading through rocky stream, hiking over cobbles—the Trailstars offer that extra security and protection while still being very light. Both Trailstars together weigh less than a single sandal of what I used to wear.

Very streamlined and minimal. I could walk all day in them. Quick to put on and off. Can get the fit just right with all the adjustment points. I got the leather footbed, and they are very grippy even when wet. I wear them walking, out shopping, and traveling (they are very sturdy, and yet all those straps give them more substance and style than a flip-flop, so they are versatile, I only packed these when going on a trip.)
I measured my feet in every way they advised, and also checked sandals I own that fit me good. It was worth it to get a pair that fits me perfectly.
They are not inexpensive, but the price is very reflective of the quality. I'm looking for a reason to buy myself more.

I like the slim look. The length was a lot longer than I expected and I trimmed the excess with a band saw.
I have had a problem with the front edge being thin, which sometimes catches on twigs and causes stumbling. I have to be mindful when not walking on flat surfaces

I am really pleased with how the shoe feels on, it's adjustable straps, the flexibility of the sole, and great traction.
BUT. I have not been able to wear the shoe yet because the straps are too long for my low-ish volume feet, and I can't close the Velcro.

Amazing piece of footwear. Got these as a gift to replace my current minimalist brand. I work from home, mostly at a standing desk, and like to work out in my home gym thruout the day. These sandals fit like a glove and the toe strap is a real game changer. Holds foot perfectly. You can't even tell you have shoes on and the straps hold everything stable for calisthenics, running, lifting, anything.

Loving my trailstars so far!

I started running about 8 years ago in my late 40's, and transitioned to minimalist footwear a few years into it. I have owned several pair of 5-fingers, some custom made shoes, and a couple different sandals, and I am really impressed with the Trailstar Maximus. The infinite adjustability is amazing, and the leather footbed is crazy comfortable. With just a couple of strap adjustments, my first 5 mile run was comfortable right out of the box. I also own a pair of Warriors with the ultragrip (also a great sandal) but I am really loving these Trailstars so far.

I am really impressed with them. I do a lot of barefoot walking and running and these are incredible, I am particularly impressed with the strapping system which keeps sandals very securely attached on the very uneven trails that I run. They were comfortable immediately on a 10 mile hike and on my first 6 mile trail run on steeply angled paths. A great improvement on the Warriors which I loved but these take the whole barefoot feel to another level because they feel so much part of your feet

I've had minimal sandals and shoes from most of the top brands. The toe loop and grippy foot bed hold better on wet trails than any I've tried.
