Our Fit recommendation for this shoe based on customer feedback: If you are ordering from your normal EU size - you will need to size up 1 or even 2 sizes. Please check our sizing chart as we have accounted for this if you go by the UK/AU or US sizing.

If you don't know your normal EU size, or would like to double check sizing for this model, please use the sizing tools we have provided here like this:

1. Print out our Printable Size Guide for this model and stand on it - making sure your printer is set to 100% Scale. Choose the size where your longest toe finishes. If you are on the line, consider if you will be wearing thick socks, or prefer to have less or more space in your shoes and choose accordingly.

2. Use our Strutfit online sizing app to check your feet measurement and it will tell you what size to order - Click on "WHAT IS MY SIZE?" above. You will need an a4 sheet of paper and a smartphone for this. Once you have done this once, it will also tell you what size you need for all the other shoes on our website as you browse through other models.

3. Use the sizing chart provided which shows the insole length and width of the shoe which you can use to compare the measurements against another pair of shoes that fit you well. Or you can compare them with a sizing chart from another brand and work out your size that way. This is not a fool-safe way though, as the volume and material in the upper of the shoe can also make a big difference to the fit so best to use this in conjunction with one of the other sizing methods.

We don't recommend manually measuring your feet to work out sizing, as in our experience most people measure incorrectly without the use of a proper tool such as a brannock device.

This is our second pair of bprimal school shoes for our daughter who started prep this year. We really believe in these shoes, we know they are the best thing for her developing feet and the price is very reasonable. But we’ve had to buy another pair this year as the first pair only lasted two and half terms, with holes all along the heal, and she only wears them 3 days a week. We tried to get them repaired locally but couldn’t given the design. Maybe it’s her foot stride adjusting to the type of shoe but I really hope this pair last longer then 2.5 terms!

There was a fault with first pair and company responded quickly with a new product. Great to deal with.

Great kids shoes, we are happy with everything about them. Only thing is the valcro strap is far to long and we had to cut about 40mm off so it wasn’t on the ground.

These shoes are really cute. They are soft and really wide and my daughter says they are the comfiest shoes she has ever worn. The only negative comment I have is that the strap is REALLY long.

Great quality material and design except for one obvious flaw, the strap length. I've seen quite a few other reviews mention the length of the straps, and i was hoping the design would have been modified by now. The Velcro strap is way too long for the size of the feet its designed for, like really long, the Velcro section only just joins for my daughters feet (which aren't a slim size more of a wider ankle) and the strap drops on the ground.
Please adjust the design for future customers.

Our daughter finds them comfortable and loves wearing them to school or bushwalking too!

Like in most of the comments the strap is way too big, so I had to cut like a good 5cm off and move the velcro. The overall quality isn't bad but they defiantly run big, we are used to wearing barefoot shoes but these are truly wide. I really wanted these to be good but I think a few changes need to be made as they are meant for everyday wear ( like school etc).

I sized up one size as advised in the description and the shoes fit well and my child is really happy with them. As another buyer mentioned, the straps are way too long. I cut them to size (6cm off the length) and unpicked the velcro myself and took them to a cobbler to sew and it still cost me $20, so I wouldn't buy again unless this problem was fixed in the meantime. I can see wear on the tread of the shoe after less than a week so I hope they have longevity. Pretty happy with these so far though.

I expected these to be very high quality and I am a little disappointed. I am concerned they won’t last the school term with my daughter wearing them daily. The size is quite wide even though we used the printable sizing sheet. To tighten shoe so it sits safely, the strap overhangs the shoe. Do you have any recommendations for this? At the moment my only option is to trim the strap.

I bought these for my year 1 daughter for school. I think they are a great price for a minimalist shoe and as we were looking for a vegan shoe we are just happy to find something that fits the bill!

My daughter loves the style and is happy to wear them. We found the strap excessively long (my daughter likes to wear her shoes fastened tight, but I think anyone would find the strap long). I ended up taking them to a cobbler who adjusted this for us to make them a better fit for her. I did feed this back to BPrimal and received positive acknowledgment of this very quickly and understand they are taking all this feedback into account as this is their first run of minimalist shoes for children.

Make sure you size up as BPrimal recommend, and the printable size chart on the website is accurate to double check.

So overall - good price and style and love the vegan option! Be mindful of the long strap thing as you may wish to alter them as we did. Overall I would buy them again and probably will.

Really prompt service. I ordered these socks on a Sunday, they arrived on Tuesday.
A quality sock that is wool rich and comfortable. I wanted to love them and give 5 stars, but for me there were two problems.
First, the socks are way too tight around the lower calf. I tried just about every method to stretch them, but they snapped back tight. If this is not a problem for you and you prefer your socks extra snug above the ankle and below the calf, then buy them!
Second, I found them to be “crew” length right up until to first wash, in cold water and air dried. If you don’t mind your crew socks sitting a little lower, then buy them!
If Bprimal ever decide to make a loose top toe sock, I’ll be one of the first customers.

Fantastic, but sizing is a bit inconsistent with other Lems shoes

These boots are awesome! For reference, I comfortably wear a size 14 in the Lems Primal Zen (multiple pairs, I've tried a size 13 Primal Zen, and it's definitely too small), but the size 14 in the Boulder boot felt too big. I had to send the 14 back, and got a 13 instead, and they are perfect.
The Boulder boot in a 13 is almost identical in size, and feel, to a size 14 in the Primal Zen.

I’m very pleased with these new shoes. They have a wide toe box that accommodates my feet in comfort, while still supporting and cushioning on long walks. The vibram soles have excellent grip and sensory connection to the surface I’m walking on.

I’m very happy I made the switch. Early days. Feet and ankles sore but good sore. I can feel my body adjusting my lower back pain on my right side, gone. 20 years of RM Williams boots. Very happy. I’m gonna visit the store next week and get the toe spacers. Overall very satisfied.

My toes can finally spread!

I thought it was my big toe that needed space - and yes, it does, but the revelation with these shoes is how cramped my smaller toes were in other shoes, too. Feeling them being able to spread out is really something.
These shoes have a no-drop heel, and they aren’t super cushiony, but I stand up most of the day and my feet are still comfortable walking home. And they come in half sizes. What more can you ask for?
