While doing my research and asking around about my foot size and which Shamma size would fit me best, I came across a detail that mentioned using the Power Straps if you plan on doing more than just walking—like running or any activity where you need your slides to stay securely on your feet.
I read several reviews saying that the Power Straps are the best add-on to pair with any Shamma slides, so I ordered them together with my Cruzers. It did take me a bit of time to figure out how to attach them properly. I actually had to test my Cruzers on a beach walk, sit down, and finally adjust and attach the Power Straps—and OMG, I should have done this much earlier!
I’m now so excited for my next beach holiday, where I’ll be wearing my Shamma Cruzers with the Power Straps. Lesson learned though: please wear sunscreen on your feet… don’t be like me 😄
I’ve been wanting to buy a pair of slides that I could wear every day—something comfortable enough for daily use but also practical for beach walks, where I wouldn’t have to take them off and could easily rinse away sand or dirt while still wearing them.
One day while scrolling through Instagram, I saw that the Cruzers were on sale. It took me about three days (and a lot of asking people—and ChatGPT 😄) to figure out which size would suit me best. My foot measures 23.5 cm, and I decided to go with a size one inch bigger so my toes wouldn’t hang over the edge.
Once I placed the order, it turned out to be the best decision ever! I wore them a few times to break them in, and they’ve now molded perfectly to my feet. I even flew to the Gold Coast and wore them on all my adventures—walking to the shops, strolling along the beach, and doing lots of walking overall. I absolutely love them!
My only mistake was not putting sunscreen on my feet on one extremely hot summer day—but other than that, I’ve been loving these slides and couldn’t be happier with them.
I’d like to start by saying these boots are extremely comfortable and light. I’ve been a fan of Lems for some time now and have always been on the lookout for a zero-drop tactical boot. When they released the Tactical Mid, I thought my prayers had been answered—and to a point, they have. Overall, the boot is very well constructed and super easy to get on and off. It flexes well, and the stack height is just enough to provide a small amount of cushioning underfoot.
The problem I have is with the right boot specifically. The first issue I faced was when I put this boot on and tied it up relatively loosely: I experienced severe pain on the inner side of my right ankle. When investigating this, I found that when the eyelet for the first lace hook had been attached, the material had bunched up and was caught under the eyelet itself. Having managed to pull the fabric out from under the eyelet, I thought the problem was solved. Much to my dismay, upon relacing them, the pain was again immediate—once more to my inner right ankle.
Further investigation has led me to believe that the problem lies where the gusseted tongue is attached to the boot on the inner side. When the tongue is placed in a central position, the stitching cuts into my skin due to the materials sewn together at this point. This pressure point creates an immediate pain spot and makes the boot unwearable. The problem only occurs with the right boot. To remedy this, I have to move the tongue of the right boot off centre and more towards the instep (photo attached) in order to prevent the tongue from creating a pressure point.
I’m unsure why this is only a problem in my right boot, but it’s something that has taken the shine off what otherwise would be a wonderful pair of boots. The problem with the pressure point was so bad over the course of eight hours’ wear that I was very tempted to return them.
