I'm loving these boots. I used the Strufit tool and ended up going with the size 11, snug (smaller) choice. I'm usually a 10.5 in other shoes. It's my first time ordering from bprimal and they're great. Postage is quick and the returns policy made it easy to order 3 pairs of boots to find the right fit.
My only issue with these Lems boots is the gusset on the inner side of my left (smaller) foot digs into my foot and it's annoying. Wearing thick socks reduces the pain, but doesn't get rid of it. I fixed the problem by shoving a piece of leather in the boot so the folded up gusset can't stab me. I've done some long walks and it's working great. We'll see if the boots eventually break in. It's only that side of that foot and it happened with all 3 sizes of boot I tried, so I guess it's just something sensitive about that part of my foot .

I loved the look of these boots from the moment I unpacked them. The fit was great with plenty of room in the toe box. Unfortunately they hurt my ankles and within five minutes of walking up and down my hall way I knew I would be crippled on a long rugged walk. I really wanted to keep these lovely boots and even tried not tying the ankle section, to no avail. So I had to return them. Bprimal returns were great too. I highly recommend the company and will be buying again, but not boots

Had mine a few weeks now, they do get easier to put on but could wish for a little wider. My feet get cold when working outdoors in them as I cannot fit my thick woolen socks. I do have wide feet, Womens E fitting.
The grip is not great for serious hiking, have had a few slips.
Most disapointing is they are not properly waterproof :(, only damp proof.
Otherwise, my feet love these boots.
Emma B.
Leather is very stiff, need to break it in & a bit difficult to get your feet in. I used the tool that recommends a size, probably could have gone one size up but am hoping that they will stretch a bit with wear.

Living the Boulder boots. Fit like a glove and secure though are hard to get on and off at the moment, hopefully the entrance will loosen up.

Really good service.
Comfort of boots excellent.
Quality excellent.
By week 2 did first 10k walk in them and they were terrific.
Jacqueline B.
Fabulously comfortable on first wear a great boot ❤️
Paul W.
Great boots, just what id been looking for. My foot is a little wider than usual and these boots are really comfortable and there is no more cramped up toes.
Karen S.
I had to go 2 sizes up in these so please make sure you check your foot size when you purchase - I checked my feet against the foot size guide that Bprimal provides and it was accurate (make sure you print at 100%). The only negative I want to point out is that they can be a pain to put on - you need to loosen the laces all the way down - or maybe that's just my feet! Now to the good bit - OMG! They are so comfortable and I've never felt so stable and confident over rough terrain. I used to rave about my Keens but the Lems leave them in the dust. Can't recommend them highly enough!
Sam D.
Positives: well made, comfortable, lots of room, gusseted tongue keeps water out, look great.
Negatives: doesn't have much grip, could benefit from some more lugs on the bottom. A little hard to pull on.
Very happy with these boots overall. Fit is slightly larger than actual size, as per comments on the item listing.
William .
Quality control is poor, one boot had a massive scratch in the leather upon arrival. They are not waterproof, foot got soaked second time walking through water for a very short period whilst hiking. I bought these mid 2023 and have worn them maybe 30 times as I only wear them for outdoor activities like small hikes and working in the garden and they leather is already coming apart/ripping at the soles. I would try other boots if I wear you.
Melissa J.
Lem's advice to go up a size in this boot is good advice. I'm a 10.5 ladies usually, I ordered an 11.5 and they fit perfectly. Great comfy boot!
Amy T.
The boots are wonderful.
So comfortable.
Be aware that the fit is unusual - it took three tries to get it right but was so worth it.
I have hardly taken them off.
Peta G.
This boot style unfortunately also didn't work for me. Tight fit for a duck shaped foot. The tongue of the boot doesn't fold all the way down as it is sewn to the sides which makes it a squeeze to push in a foot that is wider than usual across the toes.
Suzanne M.
I had to exchange to get a smaller size after following the instructions for sizing. I'm still wondering if the boots are too big though. I walked into town and my left ankle got very sore from the boot. And it feels like my feet are swimming around in there....
Emma .
I had to go up a full size which was fine. I’ve worn these boots hiking and in cities on a wet, snowy trip to Europe for a month now. They are super comfortable, and waterproofing has been great, they’ve kept my feet warm and dry. But in wet conditions they have little to no grip. I’ve slipped on wet grass, rock, snow and ice, hiking as well as just walking around the city - my brother’s adidas sneakers had more grip! They need a wider traction in the sole. It’s disappointing given the price and I wouldn’t buy again.
Russel G.
These boulder boots are the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn.
I did go up two sizes on what I normally wear, after reading other reviews. This was a good move, they are a perfect fit. Mynormal size would have been way too tight. There is plenty of toe room. I also like how the soles feel the earth as it feels like barefoot, without the pain of a sharp stone or stick etc . Very happy with them. Thanks BPrimal
Gareth E.
Excellent boots. Comfortable out of the box. I really enjoy wearing them.
I’m glad I took the time to read all the reviews with regards to sizing. These run small. I wear US11.5 for Nike and Adidas. I went for US12.5 for these boots.
Diana B.
This is the BEST boot I’ve ever owned and I’ve bought many, many boots. They weathered everyday use now for 3+ years.
NB: I bought a spare pair in case they stopped making them but these have NOT worn out as yet.
Truly FABULOUS.
Michelle W.
When I get back from Antarctica in December, I'll tell you how they performed for both my husband and myself. We don't expect t wear them on the ice but perhaps on deck or whilst kayaking.
Christine P.
I had purchased this boot due to it being advertised as wide fit. I should have listened to one review in particular that stated that it was a "little difficult to put on". I found it a struggle to get my foot into the boot, past the almost right angle of the ankle of the boot. Once in, it was reasonably wide, though not the widest, and seemed to be the correct fit, but just not practical to have a struggle like that every time to put a boot on. It's not something that comes up in reviews much, so probably my foot shape. Had to return them. Sorry guys. Apart from that they felt like a good quality boot.
Eliza C.
Beautiful boots. I just love them. Super comfy. I used a thin innersole as a bit roomy for my narrow foot. I usually go for 11.5 and the 12 fits perfectly. The sizing app recommended 12.5 but I think that would be too much space for my liking.
Larissa W.
LOVE how light & comfortable these are!
I have changes ALL of my shoes to LEMS including the chilliums and soon the slipper.
Keep up the great work LEMS
Ellen M.
You’ll love these boots forever! I wear them with leggings, trackies, jeans, shorts, gym wear, casual wear, and even pyjama pants. The most versatile, comfortable, durable, ‘look good with anything’ boots you’ll ever own. They’re honestly an expense you’ll never regret.
Vanessa V.
Love my new Lems. I ordered a full size up as recommended and they fit perfectly. Super comfy, I could wear them all day everywhere.
Jessica
Sized up per the instructions and they fit well. Not much lighter than the lightweight hitec boots, but certainly dressier and a bit more flexible. Chose this model for the full leather due to comments about the nylon on the lighter versions digging in as it folds.
Clem B.
I love these, they were comfortable from the moment I wore them and the generous toe box is wonderful. I would certainly buy these again!
Sally S.
I love my Lems Boulder Boots. So so so comfortable and heaps of room for my toes to spread out and they look great. And their waterproof to. I got a half size larger than I normally would and I’m happy I did because they are harder on top than my lems runners. Just gave me a little more wriggle room. Thanks bprimal I love what you do.
Bryan P.
Had my eyes o these for some time and finally took advantage of a discount offer. Followed the advice of order a half size larger which I would also recommend. Love the look, feel and comfort.
Amelia R.
I bought the recommended size from the online sizing app and it was perfect (I took a photo of my foot on the paper etc). I bought them as foot-health friendly alternative work boot. I now wear them casually too. The boots are very comfortable, lots of room to spread toes out and the sole allows you to feel the ground beneath you but gives enough protection from hard surfaces. I work in gardening and landscaping, waterproofing has been reliable so far. I found i was tying them too tight and the tongue was rubbing on my ankle but now I simply tie them looser and it's even more comfortable now and there's no more rubbing. I will never go back to a shoe with a heel again.
Andy M.
These are my third pair of LEMS footwear, my first hiking boots.
They are an excellent quality boot and are really comfortable to wear.
I’m looking forward to getting back into hiking in the mountains again later this year. Until then I will be training in these regularly.
Will C.
The fit was fine, and the build seemed of good quality, but the hard parts of the leather internal meant there was no way I could wear it for long periods.
Anonymous
delivery fine, boots adhesive on toe of boot gave way after a few months of wear. I had to re apply adhesive to fix problem. Previous pair used for over 2 years and this did not happen. Thus quality of boot lower this time.
Still love boot
Anonymous
Good quality material used. Just slightly off with the size. I followed the recommended size but need to add At least one full size.
Anonymous
Great shoe, little bit of rubbing on the back of my heel as I wear them in but super comfy otherwise
Jack
Love the boots, bprimals shipping was great
Jack
Hands Down the best shoe/boots ive ever owned. They are so light, My lower back pain has improved and i feel good with them on my feet.
They take a bit longer to take on and off compared to my old side zip work boots, however, this is a small price to pay for such a comfortable boot.
When these one wear out I will probably only buy this boot again.
Do your feet a favor haha

Great shoes right from the get go

I had pretty high hopes for the Lems that I ordered, and they did not disappoint.
I have 6 pairs of Lems (3 x boulder boots, 1 x chukkas, 1 x nine to five, 1 x trailhead), which I've had for over 2 years, and they've become the only brand I wear.
This is partly because of the wide toe box allowing my foot to fit better than any other shoe I've found (all of my pairs are the largest sizes they currently make - Men's US size 15). But it is also because they are high quality, robust, and exceptionally comfortable. I think they look good as well.
I work and train in the boulder boots daily.
I sometimes subject my boots to extremely harsh environments (off track stone country in the NT, Australia), and I've seen what this does to footwear. Given the lightweight feel, I was concerned that they may not hold up, but again I was not disappointed. I've certainly had tougher boots, but long term they were destroying my feet.
I've found the traction generally to be very good, with one notable exception. They are very slippery on smooth, wet surfaces (think wet tiles), much more so than other boots I've had. I DO NOT recommend trying to run or move quickly on smooth wet surfaces in these or you will be on the deck before you know it.
Some others have mentioned how part of the tongue digs into the ankle, which I also found to be the case on both pairs of my waterproof boulder boots, but only on the top of the inside of the left ankle. I fixed this quickly and simply by folding back a couple of centimeters of the intrusive edge of the tongue, problem solved.
The laces are high quality and I haven't had to replace any of them.
Regarding the fit, when buying online, I recommend measuring your foot (length and width), and purchasing footwear (regardless of brand) with slightly larger internal measurements than the size of your foot. As an example of sizing/fit, my feet are 306mm long and 120mm wide under load, and the boulder boot is 319mm long and 109mm wide internally, and they just fit. They're very comfortable, but I wouldn't want them to be any smaller than that.
The numbers assigned to shoe sizes appear to mean almost nothing. When you have a measurement that is recognized across the world (millimeters/centimeters/inches/etc.) then you have something to work with. When you just have a random number like 15, you have nothing to work with. That's why it's AWESOME that Bprimal/Lems have the size guide that they do, showing internal measurements of their shoes.
Overall, I'd rate these as the best boots I've owned, without a doubt.
Leanne Haag
Lovely boots, very comfy, I would definitely recommend, but suggest going up half a size not a whole size
Anonymous
Really comfortable to wear - absolutely no wear-in period. Being a boot, they're harder to slip into than my doc's, for example, but otherwise they're great - I went for a fitting before buying, and the recommendations around sizing on the bprimal page, matched my fitting experience.
Dimitrios Bellas
Very happy with purchase, boots are very comfortable.
Anonymous
I had to take the insoles out to wear the boots comfortably which makes them even lighter. The ground feel is very good and I like wearing them but getting into the boots is still a little uncomfortable because of my wide feet.
Anonymous
These are great shoes. Make sure you get the size right. The shipping is so fast that if the size is wrong you can iterate a bit. Pros: soft but hard wearing sole, big toe box, look great and keep my feet dry. Cons: hard to get on and off.
Anonymous
Very comfy & stylish

Sizing seems to be an ongoing issue with these. Don't get me wrong, they are very comfortable and I really like wearing them. I wear them for farm work and am in them all day, but they are a very small sizing compared to any other shoe I've ever owned, even other Lems shoes. When I first tried them on given they were a different shape to all my other shoes and boots they felt very comfy. I wore them around the house for a few nights to make sure. But after wearing them for a few days outside they really are a half size or full size too small. Still wearable but, so i won't be wasting my money, but i will be very careful next time. Both the other two pairs of Lems shoes I have bought, just before these, the sizings were very good so I am not sure what the problem is with these unfortunately.

Its like Primal 2 but more tough for outdoors
Anonymous
The high ankles restricted movement. The laces couldn't tighten the toe box which is reasonably large. The folds next to the tongue are in the same material as the boot and can dig into the ankle. Design modification may be to have fabric beside the tongue to prevent this. The tread is shallow. Returned due to discomfort.
Linda House
I love these. They are so very comfortable and I like the look. I have been wearing them with jeans around town and have also worn them for a couple of bush walks. They have not disappointed me at all. They are super comfortable. They are zero drop which I love and also provide some protection from spiky undergrowth and stones. I bought some canvas boulder boots 4 years ago. I had discovered zero drop shoes and had also learned that there was a shop that sold Lems in Vancouver, called ‘Distance Runner’. I am from Australia but was there for a Toastmasters convention in 2017. I bought the Boulder boots and also some red Primal 2’s. As soon as my feet were in them they felt instantly so comfortable, that I didn’t want to take them off. This goes for both the boulder boots and the primal 2’s. I love them both although perhaps the Primal 2’s are just that bit softer and more welcoming to my feet after a day’s hard walking However I ‘relegated’ the boulder boots for use on my farm work job where my role is to walk up & down rows of strawberry runners. I stop frequently to check the leaves, using my magnifier, for pests as well as for beneficial critters. Sometimes the ground underfoot is dry, sometimes it is wet & muddy. It is not uncommon to walk about 10 kms per day altogether as I pace up and down the rows of crop.I once wore Blundstone boots when walking in the paddocks. But they were heavy on my feet, they pinched my toes, the leather cracked with the constant wetness followed by drying out, They became hard and uncomfortable. My feet hated them and so did I. This was the reason I decided to use my boulder boots for the job. They were a delight, so light on my feet and comfortable. No toe pinching at all. These were not the waterproof ones so they were frequently wet and then dried again. But unlike the Blundstones, the boulder boots stayed soft and comfortable despite frequently getting wet and then drying out. This is a very tough testing sort of a workout for any type of footwear. But after four seasons of this treatment, my original boulder boots are still hanging together. Clearly they were extremely well made in the first place, to be able to withstand such tough conditions! They are just now starting to fray a little. This is the reason I thought to replace them with another pair. However the new waterproof leather ones are so lovely that I don’t like to dirty them in the muddy clay paddocks! I think I can get another season’s wear out of my old boulder boots before they fall apart from this tough treatment. So this is not exactly a review of my new Waterproof Boulder Boots. It is a review of my old Boulcer boots as well.

I’m so pleased with my boots, love them! I wear them most of the time, general day time, for gardening, hill walks, give them a quick brush and wear them to go out in, take them off for barefoot beach walks and going to bed!

At first I thought I had bought a size too large as they were wide, felt floaty, but as I wore them they got so comfortable I don't take them off all day, a lightweight sole and upper, terrific , I personalised them with bright red laces:)

Great boots and very comfortable

I was shocked wanted me to go up 2 sizes but they fit perfectly with a good amount of room and look great. I love them! My friend is keen to get some now too.
Brent Cunningham
The waterproof boulder boots are excellent. Personally, they've not been too hot for me, which I was worried about after reading reviews, but wanted the waterproofing for peace of mind. Follow Bprimal's advice regarding sizing too
Alistair Lochhead
the shoes are too big despite me following online measuring tool. I normally use US 13 but I was recommended 14.
Erryn Jones
Love these shoes. Soooo comfy and great for what i need which is general bushwalking and hiking. I used the app to pick my size and they fit perfectly. So far they are waterproof and I have found them fine for walking on all surfaces. They are super light also. They are exactly what i was looking for.
Anonymous
I find the sole of the shoe plasticy.
I had to order a whole size larger to fit. half a size larger was still too small. I believe these shoes not to be overly waterproof and the rim around the front holds water.
Anonymous
great. love them!

Best pair of boots I've ever owned.
Emily
Excellent, these shoes are so comfy and have now replaced my original hike boots. Plenty of room in the toe box. I have low volume feet so the length and width are perfect but there is a bit of room vertically above my toes.
Leisa Smith
It was amazing brought the boulder boots had to send them back for a smaller size that was so easy after talking with Faye. Boots are so comfortable great for everyday use or hiking amazing service this is the third pair of shoes I've brought and there all fabulous thanks Bprimal
Jake Hynd
I think these would take me to Mordor. They are super comfy, very well made and look stylish to boot.
That said, I have only used for a week. As for long life in the mountains… we’ll see
Tread has this new rubber feel that could be slippery for a while longer. Hopefully it breaks in. (Would love to see vibram soles)
Cheers for boot bp and Lems
Robert Upton
Such a great pair of boots. Arrived quickly and are a perfect fit.

Good fit, useful app to get correct sizing
John Nichols
I bought these shoes to take on a two day backpack/hike. They were so comfortable straight out of the box. I was a little concerned that I’d have issues but there were none. If they made steel cap boots I’d be sold in them too!
Anonymous
Very comfortable and waterproof. Went size up as advised and they fit perfect.
Anonymous
So far so good.haven't been able to test the waterproof angle as still waiting for rain but they are comfortable and look great.
I followed your instructions re sizing and result is excellent.

I’ve had these boots for over a week now and have worn them in a variety of terrains and conditions in the Blue Mountains. I can offer these observations:
Traction: fine on wet and muddy trails and wet tarmac. Not so good on smooth rock surfaces and wet grass. The soles really need deeper and wider spaced lugs and maybe grippier rubber for the soles. Then they would be perfectly capable hiking boots.
Quality: Good durable boots will go a long way.
Comfort: There’s not a lot of ‘ground feel’ with the moderately cushioned innersole but the boots are more comfortable than more minimalist shoes and great for long walks.
Sizing: I initially followed Lems sizing guide and ordered a half a US size up. Too small. Better to follow bprimal’s advice and get a full size up.
Overall, I’d recommend these boots.

I have worn these around the house as they are my wedding shoes (thank god for big white dresses hiding shoes! You can bet I'll have no sore feet from the dance floor!) But they are heavenly!
Dean Whitling
Great boots and even better service from bprimal. I had some good old redwing boots which I loved the look of but they weighed a tonne and killed my feet. Switched out to these Boulder boots and I'm wearing them all day from day one, no problems
Belinda Duffy
I love these boots. They are lightweight and very comfortable. I wore these for the first time on our last camping trip and they were fantastic.

Disappointed a boot so expensive was made in China
Top of tongue hurts ankle, very comfortable. Interested how it wears
Moe Moon
Really love this boot. It's a little bit hot for the Queensland Summer but the fit is great coming from the Primal 2's. I have taken them hiking and while they don't have the greatest grip for scrambling, they're an awesome everyday boot that I'm wearing. The primal 2's are a bit soft for hiking and got dirty quite easily, while the Boulder's are more robust. Faye got the sizing spot on.
Luke Reay-Young
I use these boots in the construction industry and the are quite tough.
Shane Johnson
Can't wear them probably a size to small...
Kerrie Rivett
These boots are unbelievably comfortable from brand new and I'm looking forward to finding out how they go in wet conditions. I needed to exchange the original pair I received for a half size smaller: customer service provided good support and communication regarding this so the process went smoothly.
Mauro Merjer-Palma
They feel like gloves for my feet. They are very easy to get used-to and wear in. Pretty solid boots, the toe box is pretty soft dor me however.
Waterproof has been good so far, 3 weeks in.
Shane Keenan
I really liked the boulder boots, they were comfortable, surprisingly light and actually looked good. However i had to stop wearing them as every time i touched someone or something metal i would get a static shock ( which after some investigation/experimentation was found to definitely be caused by the boots). I'm not sure if this was to do with the waterproofing layer.
Interested to know if anyone else had experienced this problem?

Lems - Waterproof Boulder Boot - Weathered Umber (Unisex)
Damon Royle
I actually wear Boulder boots as my work boots. Shunning standard steel caps for a more comfortable, and I think safer less clumsy footwear, option. But, my morning walks in wet grass lands had me worried their life would be shortened drastically. No more worries with the Waterproof Boulders. The comfort and now the snug warmth in any weather. My original Boulders will be the go to during dry/warmer times. Shoes for all occasions is my mantra. Thank you LEMS. Also, the half size up from my original Boulders was perfect advice.

Lucille
Thank you Bprimal for giving me advice on sizing and putting my mind at ease. I also have a pair of Lems Primal 2 but the sizing is different to the Boulder boot so Faye was able to give me sizing advice and I was able to exchange the first pair of Boulder boots that I ordered in a size too big. I love these boots, they are so light, comfortable and flexible. It is hard to find shoes that can accommodate bunions but Lems have proven to be awesome.
Nick
I've been running in Altra running shoes for a while now and love their wide toe box on zero drop. I am a farmer and have been looking for a pair of work boots that I can wear all day. Finally found BPrimal and Lems Waterproof Boulder Boot. Very comfortable and light. Whatsmore, they shed the morning dew so my feet don't get wet! Thank you :)
Stephanie
The Lems waterproof boulder boots are just what I was looking for. Wide, comfortable straight out of the box, waterproof, and look good. I've put the waterproofing to the test on muddy walks and on our farm, my feet stayed dry. The thicker sole keeps my feet much warmer than other barefoot shoes. My only critique is that they are not the most grippy shoes in muddy conditions, but they excel in all other areas.
Great service from Bprimal who helped me with sizing and posted the boots quickly.
Diana
Love these. Soooo comfortable.
Kel
Lems boulder waterproof boots are worth the money. Structurally sound. Completely waterproof. Looks rustic and rugged yet sharp. Will continue to buy from BPrimal as the shipping and customer service can’t be beat!
Bob
Originally purchased these boots in mid April but they turns out to be a tad too big. The smaller size wasn't in stock back then but Bprimal exchanged them for me as soon as they got the new stock in 2 weeks later. These boots are incredibly comfortable! It is a bit in the warm side so these few winter months are perfect for them!
Clo Mudrik
The Lems Waterproof Boulder Boots are soooo confy!!
Kurt Plummer
Very happy with this boot
Nathan elder
The boots were a perfect fit and feel great. I’m really pleased with everything and wouldn’t expect anything less from Lems.
James
These boots have been great, well tested in puddles with the kids, though no hikes yet.
Very quick to break in and feel comfortable.
I have other Lems shoes and ordered the same size.
JoAnne Jaworowski
We followed the Bprimal website recommendation of ordering a half size up for men’s sizes, and the boots were too small. We’ve returned them for exchange for the next size up. We haven’t received the larger replacement yet.
Lisa
Really like these boots. Lots of room for my toes. Very comfortable and, unlike other hiking boots I’ve had, I can still feel the ground under my feet, so I don’t feel clumsy walking through bush. Have been out in wet conditions a few times - definitely waterproof. Boots look good - plain style and quality leather
J Peitsch
These arrived quickly after I ordered them. I was extremely excited to recieve them as they looked to be a great GP boot. So far I haven't been disappointed. I followed the sizing advice on the website which resulted in a great fit. They are all day comfortable. I look forward to using them for camping, hiking and walks.
Manu Mossman
Very comfortable, nicely made.
AS
I've never worn a proper boot before. It felt a bit awkward at first but I got used to it. It wasn't as waterproof as I thought it would be. My toes would still get wet. Also the grip was not very good for a waterproof boot, there were a couple of times where I had a little slippage. Other than that, it was ok.
Dave
Boulder waterproof boots are extremely comfortable and well made.
Great service and very fast delivery from bprimal
Thank you
Sandith
Noticeable change in my posture from wearing this shoe. I highly recommend: minimal, functional and aesthetically pleasing to wear. Easy process to change shoe size to find your perfect fit.
G
These were my first pair of minimalist shoes. I have wide feet and these are quite comfortable. Love the way they look too. I ordered about one size up as directed but I probably could have gone with half a size up (unless I wear thick socks). If you plan on wearing these casually, they might be a bit hot in summer.
