Unfortunately not the hiking boot I had hoped - I found the exposed stitching running up the inside of the back of the boot was hard and abrasive against the back of my ankle, especially walking up hill. It was very uncomfortable and I had to stop and loosen the laces and walk gingerly up hill, as it was actually painful. Cushioning and comfort around the back of the ankle is pretty central to a hiking boot.
Breathability was also an issue. After only a short, 1 hour walk, my feet felt very hot - it wasn't a hot day and I was wearing summer socks. I understand the shoe is designed to be completely waterproof, so perhaps ventilation has been sacrificed for the waterproof capability. My feet were very hot and sweaty after the short walk though.
I found the laces short - longer laces would make it easier to tie and double knot the laces.
On a positive note, the wide toe box was noticeably more roomy for my toes, in comparison to my Salomon and One Planet hiking boots.
I also found the grip on the outer sole good on loose surfaces and rock (I can't comment on wet surfaces, as I walked on a fine day).
I think this boot is okay for casual wear on flat surfaces.. unfortunately not designed with the realities of hiking in mind.
