Daring to Go Barefoot

Daring to Go Barefoot

Our feet are very important and deserve to be treated as such. Whether you love to hike, run, or take long walks it is important to maintain a solid connection to the ground on which you are treading and while being barefoot in the most literal sense may not be a great option, you can get as close to nature as you can be with Barefoot shoes.

When you can feel the sensation of your bare feet hitting the pavement and hugging the ground as you run or hike, you experience the world in a completely different and more connected light. It is no longer just our feet that are working to get us from point A to point B. Rather, it becomes more about the journey and less about getting to the destination.

The Woes of Modern Footwear

Many of the shoes we wear may look good, but how do they really feel on the feet? Some may actually cause us to walk with an unnatural gait, and they can even cause foot and knee pain. If you experience this kind of pain, it can be relieved by choosing the right footwear.

When we purchase shoes, we tend to go for what we feel is affordable and comfortable with little regard to how they will actually affect our feet or even change the shape of our feet. Wearing the wrong footwear can cause pain to the ankles in addition to the feet and knees.

Shortened heel cords and calf muscles, plantar fasciitis, and arch issues are also all prime examples of what the wrong kind of footwear can do to you in the long run.

Barefoot and Minimalist Shoes

Minimalist type shoes offer the simple design you need and are still stylish, yet sustainable. Lems shoes are designed to mirror the shape of the foot and next to being barefoot, it is the best thing for your feet and to help ease any pain traditional shoes may be causing.

These shoes are flat and flexible while remaining comfortable which is especially good if you find that you have to be on your feet for longer intervals of time throughout your day.

So, if you want to go barefoot but you know it just isn’t feasible, these minimalist shoes are a great choice and will help lessen knee pressure, provide an improved range of motion, and increase your threshold for standing.
